Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 228

Heaton was sitting on his black office chair. His dark eyes looked deep, his face was cold and his entire body seemed perfect. She had not seen him for a few years and not only did this man not age, but he was radiating a manly masculinity even heavier than before.

Ignoring the man’s split personality disorder, this man would literally be blessed by the heavens. This man was handsome, intelligent and naturally elegant.

When she learned of the man’s ailment back then, she realized that she had never known who the man truly was and had never once interacted with the side he kept hidden.

Xyla’s feelings toward Heaton were extremely complicated. She was charmed yet afraid of him. Even though she was unwilling to be with him, she was unable to accept another woman taking him away from her.

If she was unable to have Heaton, no one else could.

Upon noticing Heaton’s silence, Xyla chuckled while hugging her chest. She said, “Why aren’t you saying anything?”

Heaton swirled his steel pen’s cap around slowly. He never once looked directly at her as he said, “What are you hoping for me to say to someone who left without a word, come in uninvited and threaten me the moment we reunited?”

The man’s gaze deepened and Xyla knew Heaton was infuriated because Heaton hated being threatened, let alone by a woman.

“You know I don’t wish to threaten you. You forced me to.”

Heaton casually crossed his huge long arms and said, “Now that you’ve met me so, what do you exactly want to say? If it’s to catch up with old times then we have nothing more to say to each other.”

“Heaton, when your second personality manifested itself back then, it truly terrified me. I think any woman would be terrified that their own boyfriend had split personality disorder. The first thing that came into my mind was to hide and avoid you like any normal human…”

Before Xyla could finish her statement, Heaton interrupted her with his cold chuckles. He said, “So, should I forgive you for being startled? Miss Xyla, I’ve never blamed you and never hated you. If you are here to seek my forgiveness then it’s very simple. I forgive you and you can leave now.”

“Heaton!” Xyla frowned. She added, “I returned this time because I realized I’ve always loved you, I…”

Heaton mocked, “Miss Xyla, you wouldn’t want to tell me that while you were dating other men, your heart was focused on me now, would you? What’s the matter? Not afraid of my second personality anymore? You loved me to the extent of describing me as a ‘mental patient’?”

Xyla took a deep breath and said, “I know you’re still very agitated right now and I don’t want to argue with you. However, from what I know, that wife of yours seems to have no clue about your condition, right? If she knew about it, would you be able to guarantee that she won’t be afraid and she wouldn’t leave you like I did back then?”

Heaton’s dark eyes dimmed and immediately said, “She won’t. Xyla, don’t compare yourself to her. You’re not worthy.”

Xyla’s face was flustered red from being furious. She gritted her teeth and said, “Hmph, you’re that confident?”

“Of course. My wife happens to get along very well with my second personality. There’s no need for Miss Xyla to worry.”

There was a wave of shock that flashed across the bottom of Xyla’s eyes. Before she was able to say anything else, a knock could be heard.

“Thud, thud, thud.”

“Boss, the meeting’s about to begin. The board of directors are here. They’re waiting for you.”

Heaton stood up and spoke in a cold tone, “Miss Xyla, I’m off to a meeting. You can see yourself off.”

Xyla clenched her fists as she wanted to throw a fit and not leave.

When Xyla left the office, she furiously glared at Kush who was by the door. Kush touched his nose then politely said, “Safe travels, Miss Xyla.”

After Xyla got into the car, she calmed herself down.

Heaton mentioned his wife was getting along quite well with his second personality?

Impossible!

She refused to believe that any normal person would not be afraid of Heaton’s split personality disorder!

Xyla took the folder from the passenger seat. Her almond colored eyes were staring at the picture as she scoffed, “Verian Mont, we’ll meet soon enough. I’m interested to see how capable you are to hold the status of Madam Fudd!”

Whilst Verian was clutching her phone and getting lost in the charming post, Serene called her.

When she picked up, she heard Serene’s panicky and incoherent voice.

“Ve, Verian. What, what do I do? I, I, I…”

Verian frowned as she thought something serious had happened. She said, “What’s wrong? Don’t panic, tell me what’s wrong.”

“I, I, I… slept with Wilson!”
