Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 232

Sam chuckled, “If I’m not Sam, then why do I look exactly like her? Dr., you should be able to tell that my face had not been surgically altered.”

Lain frowned. She then relaxed and said, “I was overthinking it, I guess.”

“Since we’re on the same boat, you should trust me. Tell me, what exactly was Heaton’s most lethal weakness?”

Lain pouted her red lips and said, “Heaton has split personality disorder.”

“What did you say?” A shred of surprise flashed across the bottom of Sam’s eyes.

“You may have misheard it alright, he has split personality disorder. When he has an attack, he would manifest a second personality.”

Sam squinted her watery eyes and asked, “Then do you know how to force his second personality to manifest itself?”

Lain was stunned, then stared at Sam and said, “What on earth are you planning to do!”

“What’s the matter? Worried? Forcing Heaton’s second personality to manifest itself is beneficial to you. His second personality should have no idea who Verian is right? And you, as a psychologist, subduing Heaton’s second personality shouldn’t be a problem for you, right?”

“But I don’t wish to hurt Heaton. Sam, whatever you do, I don’t care but I have a bottomline and that is, you can’t expose Heaton’s ailment to the public and you can’t hurt Heaton.”

Sam’s cell phone rang. It was from Yanni.

She did not immediately pick up the call. Lain raised her brows and said, “What’s the matter? It’s Yanni. Why aren’t you picking up?”

Sam pouted her lips and picked up the call.

A gentle man’s voice could be heard from the other end of the call, “Sammie, where are you? Aunt Wendy called me and told me you went out?”

Sam bit her lips and said, “Oh, I’m out shopping and I’ll be home in a bit.”

“Shopping? I remembered you disliked shopping though?”

“I was only out to buy some stuff. I’ll be back in a bit.”

“Which mall are you at? I’ll have Dan pick you up.”

Sam frowned deeper and said, “There’s no need.”

“Sammie, be a good girl. Don’t let me worry about you.”

Sam was speechless.

Finally, she told him a random mall’s name.

After she hung up the call, Lain teased, “Yanni treats you so well so what else is there are you not satisfied about? You are now back alive so why must you so desperately break up Heaton and Verian? I don’t understand your motive.”

“Back then, Heaton caused me to fall into the sea and I parted with Yanni for ten years. Who can repay me those ten years of my life? Of course I wanted him to taste what it’s like to lose his love!”

Sam called a cab and after arriving at the Prosperity Mall, she hastily got out the cab and fortunately, Dan had not arrived yet.

She waited at the Prosperity Mall for about five minutes as a black Bentley gradually cam to a halt.

Dan got out of the car, opened the door for her and said, “Please get in, Miss Joyce.”

After Sam got into the car, she said, “Assistant Lee, take me home.”

“But, President Quain wanted me to send you to his office. He said he missed you and wanted to see you.”

Sam was speechless.

Sam took a deep breath and her scalp felt numb.

When she was receiving so much compassion from a man she barely knew, this was not a form of love. Instead, it was torture.

When she arrived at Yash Company, Dan led Sam to Yanni’s office.

Yanni seemed to have just ended a video conference as Sam cautiously sat on the couch. Yanni however, was already getting up and walking toward her.

“Didn’t you say that you were out shopping? Why are both your hands empty?”

Sam was stunned. She lied, “Oh, I originally wanted to buy some skincare products but after walking around, I felt they were unsuitable for me, so I didn’t buy anything.”

Yanni sat next to her then hugged her into him. His huge hand was gently caressing her cheeks as he said compassionately, “Just tell me what you want and I’ll have someone buy it for you.”

“... No, there’s no need.”

Yanni was staring at her with a burning gaze with his dark eyes. His eyes were filled with love as he praised without restraint, “Yeah, Sammie, your skin’s the best even if it’s after ten years. You still look like a little girl.”

Sam seemed to have loosened up and a little lost… was this the man her sister fell in love with?

To her however, this man was perfect. He was gentle, handsome and aside from being focused on her, he would not bat an eye for another girl.

However, she was not Sam…

The man that was being extremely gentle and compassionate in front of her right now however, was one of the main culprits that caused her sister’s death.

“Yanni, back then… when I fell into the water, did you try looking for me?”

Yanni’s dark eyes were stunned. He did not expect Sam to ask that question so suddenly. He said, “I’ve looked for you for a whole year and everyone told me that I was mad since it was impossible for a person to survive after they have fallen into the sea.”

Sam’s eyes stung slightly as she said, “Have you ever thought about if you and Heaton never brought me to Regent Island? I wouldn’t have parted with you for ten years.”

“I have. In the last ten years, I thought about it every night. I regret bringing you to such a dangerous place and I regretted not protecting you.”

Yanni held onto her neck then gently pressed his forehead against hers. He sighed and spoke in a soft tone, “Sammie, can you forgive me? Every second and every minute for the rest of your life, I will never part with you.”

“Yanni…”

“That’s not how you used to call me, Sammie. Call me Yan or else, I will feel that you’re still hating me.”

“Yan…?”

Was this how her sister used to call this man?

“Sammie, call me a few more times. I wish to hear it.”

Sam was speechless and blushed as the edges of her ears felt warm.

Yanni smiled and stared at her blushing cheeks. His eyes were gentle as he said, “Sammie is shy now.”

Sam was speechless.

“Thud, thud, thud.”
