Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 245

Upon arriving at the hospital, Verian was wheeled into the ward.

Serene was tugging Wilson’s huge white lab coat as she frantically said, “Master, you have to make sure they save Verian’s child!”

Wilson stared at Serene’s tiny hand and said with a cold expression, “So now you’re finally willing to see me after avoiding me for so many days?”

Serene was speechless.

Serene instinctively let go. As she removed the last of her fingers from Wilson’s lab coat, Wilson immediately grabbed onto her hand before gently patting her head. He spoke in a deep voice, “Don’t you worry, nothing bad is going to happen. Just wait here while I head over to take a look.”

“Okay.”

Serene relaxed as she stared at Wilson’s attractive back.

Verian and the child should be fine when Hades Jarret arrived!

Serene then turned to look at Nancy who was sitting on the side. She said with a frown, “Miss Xander, Verian is your sister-in-law. Why did you push her? Did you know she’s pregnant? What if the child…”

Nancy chuckled coldly and said, “Miss Ludd, don’t spout nonsense. Which one of your eyes has actually seen me push Verian? It was Verian who fell on her own. Even if you want to lie about it, you should look for the evidence as well!”

“You! It was you who hit and caused her to fall in the first place!”

Old Master Fudd was standing there with a frown while holding onto his walking stick. He yelled, “Enough!”

Nancy bit her lips and said, “Father, you heard what Miss Sheen said. Who else would dare harm Heaton. From what I think, this accident was orchestrated by Verian as part of her plan to seek revenge! Yet she pretended to cry and act so pitifully! Father, are you actually planning on allowing Heaton’s murderer to stay in the Fudd family home?”

“We’ll decide after I’m done investigating it! The most important thing right now is the child in Verian’s belly. No matter what, the child is still our Fudd family’s bloodline.”

Verian looked miserable lying in the bed in the patient’s ward.

A few doctors came out and Old Master Fudd approached them, asking “Doctor, how are both the adult and child?”

The doctor frowned and said, “The patient’s progesterone levels are already low on their own. Although the child was barely saved this time, please make sure the patient is never stressed out emotionally. She needs to sleep and eat well while maintaining a positive psyche.”

Serene entered the room after glaring at Nancy.

“How are you feeling, Verian? Does it still hurt?”

Verian shook her head.

As Serene looked at her weakened state, she felt awful for her as she said, “The child in your belly is Heaton’s child and yet the members of the Fudd family suspect you. How can they assume you’re Heaton’s murderer! Nancy is even worse. She even had the audacity to hit you! Fortunately, it all turned out okay. You and the child are fine…”

Serene gently caressed Verian’s flat belly.

Tears fell silently from the corners of Verian’s eyes as she chuckled lightly. “Heaton actually left me alone now. Serene, no one else will stand up for me ever again in future. Did you know, Heaton was the first to step in whenever I was bullied by Nancy and Wanelle. But now, he’s gone…”

“Verian…”

Verian’s forehead was injured by the bump and wrapped in bandages. This made her face look a lot paler, like it had been completely rid of blood.

Serene hugged her tightly and said, “Don’t be sad, okay Verian? Can we stop thinking about Heaton now?”

Verian closed her eyes. After she took a deep breath, she said, “I don’t want to as well. I wish to rest and take care of my pregnancy well. I want to stop thinking about Heaton but I can't help myself. I recall him telling me that if this child is a boy, he will be named Harrison Fudd and if she’s a girl, she’ll be called Astra Fudd… Serene, Heaton still doesn’t know if the child in my belly is a boy or a girl so how can he leave like that?”

Serene hugged her and cried with her.

After Verian was exhausted from crying and was asleep, Serene walked out of the patient’s ward while sniffling.
