During the ultrasound, the projection of a curled-up fetus could be seen.
The doctor said, “It’s already been three months but the child hasn’t exactly formed fully yet. However, you should be able to see a rough outline of its features in the fifth month of your pregnancy.”
Verian looked at the projection while lying down. She asked in a soft voice, “Is he still okay, doctor?”
“Quite, but your progesterone levels are still pretty low when I looked at your charts earlier. You should still keep an eye out. Are you eating well?”
Madam Leah said, “My madam can’t seem to keep her food down since she’ll throw anything she eats up and has gotten even skinnier now.”
“That’s normal so don’t worry too much about it. Eat what she must and rest when she needs to. She can take the occasional walk. The main thing is to make sure she remains in a positive mood.”
After a moment, the doctor said, “It’s done, you can get up now.”
After Verian’s checkup was over, she left with Madam Leah after getting some vitamins and supplements for her pregnancy.
When they arrived at the hospital’s exit, Verian suddenly felt like using the restroom. She said, “I need to use the restroom real quick. Madam Leah, just wait here for me.”
“Do you want me to come with you?”
“It’s alright, I’ll be right back.”
Verian went to the restroom on the first floor after taking some time to find it.
When she got out of the restroom, she bumped into a person in the hospital’s main lobby.
That person’s long slender arm helped her up. When Verian was about to thank that person, she noticed an extremely familiar, handsome face when she looked up.
“He-Heaton…!”
Xavier raised his brows slightly as he coldly released her arm. He replied, “Sorry.”
He gently nodded then turned around and left with a cold and distant expression.
Verian was stunned for a second before catching up to him. She called out, “Heaton! Heaton!”
Verian caught up to him and immediately grabbed his hand. She was beyond emotional as she said, “You… You really aren’t dead! Heaton… I knew you were fine! This is great… You’re still alive… I missed you dearly all this time… You…”
Before she could finish, the man coldly pushed her hand away with his own. He then calmly looked at her and said, “You have the wrong person, miss.”
His gaze seemed extremely distant.
He had the exact same handsome face as Heaton. That was Heaton’s attractively deep voice, and even his arms were as attractively long and slender as his… However, he was actually telling her that she had the wrong person?
How was that possible…?
Verian cracked a smile on her lips and said, “Heaton, what kind of joke are you pulling with me here? I’ve been waiting for you all this time and I know you won’t abandon me and Little Jelly Bean...Earlier, I-I went to the Gynecology department for my pregnancy checkup and the doctor told me that our child is fine… Here, give it a feel…”
As she spoke, Verian grabbed his hand and placed it on her tiny belly but Xavier coldly flung her hand off and said, “You actually have the wrong person.”
The man strode away from her sight.
Verian wanted to chase after him but since the hospital was crowded, it did not take long for Xavier to shake her off his tail.
When Verian bolted out of the hospital, she was panting heavily.
Madam Leah immediately held onto her and said, “Madam, be careful of the child when running so quickly.”
Verian immediately grabbed onto Madam Leah’s hand and excitedly said, “Madam Leah, I saw Heaton earlier! Did you see him while you were standing here earlier!”
“Madam, did you mistake someone else for him? I didn’t see the young master while I was standing here all this while.”
Verian was frantically scanned the area. She shook her head and said, “Impossible… I really did see him earlier! Please believe me, Madam Leah! I really did see him! He… He even held my hand and helped me up. I’m not lying to you, Madam Leah!”
