Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 272

Before leaving, Little Jelly Bean kept pestering them, wanting to visit Second Grandfather. However, he was stopped by John.

“There’re many germs in the hospital. Besides, we don’t know if your Second Grandfather has regained consciousness yet. When Second Grandfather is awake, I’ll bring you to visit him. Be a good granddaughter, okay?”

Little Jelly Bean pouted. “Alright, then.”

Verian stroked Little Jelly Bean’s hair. “Jelly Bean is so obedient.”

When Heaton and Verian were on their way to the hospital, Verian frowned. “That’s weird. Second Uncle was doing fine when he visited us this morning. Why will he faint all of a sudden?”

Heaton who was driving the car answered her, “Second Uncle has chronic angina. His sickness probably recurred.”

“Hopefully, Second Uncle will be fine.”

Verian prayed for James. Strangely, she felt a cordial feeling toward James.

As for John, she had a stern, old parent kind of feeling from him. Although James was too a close elder, when she first met James, she felt congenial toward him.

When they arrived at the hospital, Sarah and Jane were sitting on a bench waiting outside the emergency room. The mother and daughter hugged each other tightly and their faces were full of worries.

The moment Jane saw Heaton, she sprung up from the bench, ran toward him and pounced into Heaton’s embrace.

“Brother… My dad suddenly fainted! Tell me, will he be okay?! I’m so afraid…”

Heaton stroked her hair and consoled her, “Brother is here. Second Uncle will definitely be fine.”

Jane was sobbing before but after Heaton consoled her, she immediately felt much better.

Everyone could see that Jane trusted Heaton a lot.

Verian did not like Heaton hugging other women and although the woman he was hugging now was his little sister, she felt a little jealous of them. However, she did not bicker about it since Jane was down and worried about her father.

Sarah lifted her head and the moment her gaze met Verian’s, there was a flash in her eyes. She was cold toward her and did not greet her at all.

Verian did not bother about it. She assumed that Sarah was worrying about her husband and thus did not attend to her.

Verian walked toward Sarah to console her. “Second Aunt, don’t worry. Second Uncle visited Heaton and I this morning and he looked lively at that time. He will definitely be fine.”

Sarah was stunned. She knitted her brows together. “What did you say? He went to see you and Heaton this morning?”

“Yes, Second Aunt.”

Sarah‘s gaze turned even colder.

How dare James keep her in the dark and visit Verian? It looked like he genuinely cared about his and Jolin’s child!

The door of the emergency room opened.

A few doctors came out from the emergency room and Sarah went up to ask, “Doctor, how is he?”

“Old Mr. Fudd suddenly fainted due to a heart attack. Fortunately, he was admitted to the hospital in time and hence he’s fine now. However, you guys should pay more attention to him. I can’t guarantee that he won’t possibly faint again in the future.”

Sarah heaved a huge sigh of relief.

After James was transferred to a ward, Jane still hung onto Heaton and did not want to let him go.

James did not have a son and being his only nephew and Jane’s only older brother, it was appropriate to stay here and take care of them.

However, Verian needed rest too. She was pregnant and as her pregnancy was unstable, she could not stay to accompany her while waiting for James to wake up.

Heaton looked at Jane and said, “I’ll send your sister-in-law back first and I’ll be back.”

Jane was reluctant and held onto Heaton’s hand, unwilling to let go. “Brother, you can just ask your assistant to send her back. What if something happens to my dad again? My mom and I were almost scared to death today… Brother, don’t leave, okay?”

Upon seeing this, Verian voiced out, “Heaton, I’ll just stay here and accompany all of you. I’ll be fine.”

Heaton did not allow her to do so. “You’re weak. I’m afraid something might happen to you if you continue staying here. I’ll ask Kush to come over and pick you up. You shall go home and take a good nap. I’ll go home when Second Uncle is awake.”

Verian nodded. “Alright then.”

Soon, Kush arrived at the hospital and before leaving, Verian was gently held back by Heaton.

Verian was startled and looked into his dark eyes. “Anything?”
