Heaton sped his way back to the Fudd family home at a speed of 100 to 200 miles per hour.
Since it was already in the middle of the night, the house was extremely quiet. He could not see Little Jelly Bean or Zaynie playing and all he could see was the old man sitting alone on the couch seemingly waiting for him.
Heaton entered the house filled to the brim with disdain. He did not even bother to call out to the old man. He bluntly questioned, “Where did you send Riana to?”
The old man clutched onto his walking stick while staring at him with his aging eyes. He felt slightly furious after noticing Heaton’s complete disregard of respect. He said, “Just take a good look on how you’re behaving right now! Verian is currently very safe! There’s no need for you to worry!”
“She’s also safe if she stays by my side! You sent her away without saying a word so you should be happy now, right? Peace has been restored now! Have you ever considered how she might feel?!”
“Heaton Fudd! What attitude are you giving me?! I am your father! You threw a fit from the moment you stormed in here! I am not dead yet! My word is still absolute in this house!”
Heaton took a deep breath. A cold aura was emanating from his body as he raised his arm and rubbed his brows. He was mustering every ounce of will to suppress his anger and panic. He said, “Sure, your word is absolute in this house but do you think it’s right for you to send Riana away without saying a word? She’s not an outsider. She’s your daughter-in-law and Little Jelly Bean’s mother!”
“Hmph.” The old man stood up while holding onto his walking stick. He glared at him and said, “What are you yelling about in the middle of the night for? Little Jelly Bean is still asleep. Are you trying to wake the kids up to hear us fight?”
Heaton gritted his teeth and said, “I don’t want to fight with you, so just tell me where on Earth is Riana now?”
“Hmph, if I didn’t send Verian off in secret, do you think you’d willingly send her away, you b*stard? Heaton Fudd, are you thinking clearly now? Do you know how serious the extent of this matter is? If I didn’t send her off, your jinx of an aunt would expose the scandal to the entire world tomorrow!”
Heaton was never bothered if the media villainized him. When was he ever terrified by any blackmails from the media or anyone who dared hold a knife to his neck?
“Alright, I know you want to save your pride. I’ll fulfil that for you. However, you need to tell me where Riana is.”
Old Master Fudd’s eyes twitched as Heaton acted disrespectfully. He cackled out loud and said, “Heaton Fudd, are you trying to act unreasonably toward me now? What are you going to do about it? I will never tell you where Verian is so, are you going to demolish or burn this house down? Or are you going to report this to the cops that I have kidnapped your wife?”
“I don’t mind doing that if that’s what you want me to do.”
The old man glared at him. “You… ! What are you planning to do after I tell you where Verian is?”
Heaton glared coldly at the old man before speaking in an extremely serious tone, “Since there are so many people in North City who hate seeing us together, I’ll go look for her and never come back then. I refuse to believe those people would be desperate enough to mess with us overseas.”
“You… you b*stard child! What are you going to do with Little Jelly Bean? What about this family? Are you not going to care about the Fudd Group? You… you’re trying to agitate me to death!”
The old man raised his walking stick and was about to strike Heaton’s leg. However, he paused for a moment before turning his back to Heaton while clutching his walking stick and said, “I will never tell you where Verian is. Also, there’s one more thing you should keep in mind and that is, I’m not as cruel as you think I am to send Verian to some place that you’d never get to see her again for our Fudd family’s sake. She is still Little Jelly Bean’s mother and I felt incredibly awful when she left. However… I’m still doing it for both your sakes. Just pretend this never happened for the time being. I will reason with your aunt and this whole ordeal will be able to pass without a hitch. Till then, I’ll bring Verian back…”
Heaton chuckled coldly after the old man was done speaking. He said, “You’re not that cruel. You’re only trying to lay every single consequence in front of her then make her decide on her own. You’re betting on her choice to consider the benefit of our Fudd family, for me and Little Jelly Bean and leave this land of sorrow on her own.”
“Dad, I always thought you’re only hard to her on the surface but you still care about her in your heart. I’ve thought about my aunt, Jane or even my uncle who would force her away. However, I never once expected that the person who actually succeeded in making her leave my side would be you.”
The old man trembled with his back faced to Heaton.
The old man wanted to apologize. However, his apology was stuck in his throat and the words that escaped his mouth were, “It doesn’t matter if you’re blaming me or not but for the benefit of our Fudd family, I had to do that!”
Heaton’s gaze was deep and cold. He said, “Why don’t you just force her to sign the divorce agreement before she leaves, huh? Wouldn’t that be much safer?”
“Heaton Fudd! Watch your tone! Leave now!”
