Serene pressed her tiny face against the man’s broad back while violently shaking him.
That was not workplace sexual harassment.
Wilson could feel that she was shaking her head as he could finally relax his nervous heart.
He forced a cold tone as he questioned her, “Why are you hugging me right now, then?”
Serene looked up into the sky, took a deep breath as she mustered some courage before saying, “You drove so long and far from the city to here on New Year’s day. Are you really going to leave after having a casual conversation with me? Wouldn’t that be a waste of fuel…”
Wasting fuel?
Wilson could not hold back his laughter. What exactly was this brat’s brain thinking?
It seemed like wasting fuel turned out to be more important than him right now?
However, both her slender arms were tightly hugging his waist. He did not have the heart to pull her arms away at that instance.
Upon noticing his silence, Serene said, “You asked me if I want to be with you and I feel that your question came too suddenly and I… I need some time to seriously think about it.”
Wilson smiled before pulling her arms away and immediately getting into his car.
Serene was stunned as she stood outside his car. Wilson then lowered the window, stared at her with a serious look while saying, “Then start thinking about it from this moment. Think of me as a potential man you can date. Seriously, consider it.”
Serene nodded nervously before Wilson backed up from the narrow driveway. As he noticed that brat was still standing there completely stunned, he drove back and suddenly called out to her, “Serene.”
“Huh?”
“I am going to make it really clear to you now. I never once wanted to be whatever life coach you want me to be. It’s either you want me to be a part of your life or not. Do you understand?”
Serene intended to reply with, ‘If he became her life coach, he would also be involved with her life though.’
However, in the circumstances she was currently in and since Wilson’s expressions seemed bitter, she held her tongue back and did not want to provoke him.
Besides, she was no fool. Although she never thought of Wilson being a potential date for her back then, he made the first move. He tore down her veil and spoke his mind. Hence, why would she not consider such an amazing man.
Serene merely replied, “I understand.”
Wilson frowned as he felt her reply was a little too lackluster. He said, “I can’t hear you.”
Serene yelled, “I understand!”
She failed to control her volume. After Serene thought about the possibility of her parents actually hearing her, she frantically covered her mouth.
It was only then did Wilson’s mood improve slightly. He smiled and said, “I’m off now.”
After that black Audi left, Serene stood rooted to the same spot while waving at the leaving car. She mumbled to herself, “Drive safe.”
As Wilson noticed that woman seeing him off through the rear view mirror, his mood improved significantly.
Suddenly, that slightly round silhouette rushed over. Wilson stopped his car.
Serene was panting as she ran over. White mist could be seen from her heavy breaths. Wilson then lowered his window and looked at her. Serene probed her head through the window and said, “I nearly forgot to wish you earlier. Well… Happy New Year.”
Serene thought that she should wish him personally since he drove all this way over here.
It was only then did Wilson recall why he came over to Clear River Town in the first place.
He winked at her with his dark eyes. There was a subtle sense of delight at the bottom of his eyes. It felt like an entire galaxy of stars were falling in his eyes as he said, “That Happy New Year wish wasn’t a group text.”
Serene never seen Wilson behave so warmly flirtatious… he seemed slightly adorable too.
Serene was charmed by him.
After that black Audi left her district, she was still standing there completely lost in her mind. She was indeed starstruck.
