Verian chased the angry Little Jelly Bean to her room on the second floor.
The little munchkin had already climbed into her soft bed. She was hiding under the blanket with one of her Peppa Pig dolls, crying sadly.
Verian came over and sat by the bed. She comforted the distressed kid. "Maybe Daddy was busy with something before so he couldn’t attend Little Jelly Bean's parent-child activity classes. Jelly Bean, can you stop crying?"
The little munchkin opened the blanket angrily. Her little body sat on the bed, and her big eyes were so red. She looked pitiful, like a poor bunny that was abandoned. "Daddy likes brother more than Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean no longer loves daddy! Hmph!"
The comparison between love received among children was done unintentionally. What was more was that Heaton was obviously biased. He hurt Little Jelly Bean's heart.
Verian stretched her hands and embraced the kid in her arms. She lifted her hands to gently rub her tears away and comforted her softly. "Please stop crying. You won't look good if your eyes become swollen because of crying."
"Monty, why does daddy like my brother more? My daddy is mine! Is it because Jelly Bean is disobedient?"
The little kid frowned and looked at Verian with her tormented and puzzled wet face. Verian froze and felt even more distressed.
How should she answer Little Jelly Bean's question? Should she tell the little munchkin that it was because Zaynie was her father's son?
Verian could only try to change the topic and try to divert her attention. "Didn't daddy say he'll go to Jelly Bean's parent-child activity class next time?"
"It was only because Jelly Bean was angry that daddy made the promise. My brother only asks once, and my daddy immediately agrees! Jelly Bean asked daddy several times before but he never went!"
The little kid sounded jealous. Her big eyes blinked, and tears came down. Verian felt distraught and did not know how to comfort her.
The little munchkin sniffed with her little nose, and the bridge of her nose twitched. She sat there and said pitifully, "Brother has aunt and daddy. Jelly Bean has no mummy and no daddy. Boohoo..."
As the little munchkin finished talking, she burst into tears and could not hold back her tears anymore.
Verian held onto her in her arms and instantaneously caressed the little kid's head. She lowered her head to kiss her milky white forehead and said, "They don't care about you but you still have me. I care about you."
"Monty... Boohoo... Do you dote on Jelly Bean the most? Boohoo..."
"Yeah, I dote on Jelly Bean the most. Stop crying, okay?"
Little Jelly Bean was crying pretty loudly. As Heaton walked upstairs, he saw the little munchkin crying in tears and mucus, and he involuntarily frowned.
"Jelly Bean, daddy didn't do it on purpose. Of course, you are daddy’s favorite."
Little Jelly Bean pursed her little mouth, and buried her head in Verian's arms angrily. "Hmph, I don't love daddy anymore. Daddy, go away!"
Previously, Heaton did not attend Little Jelly Bean’s parent-child activity classes because Old Master Fudd always fought with him to attend them. John Fudd loved his granddaughter a lot, more so because Little Jelly Bean was always obedient and cute since she was young. She was the apple of the old master’s eyes. The old master always fought with him for the chance to take care of Little Jelly Bean but work always made him busy. Therefore, after Little Jelly Bean could walk and talk better, the old master took care of her often.
Since the old master retired from the military, he had only three things to do at home, namely rearing fish, playing chess, and taking care of his granddaughter. He always brought Little Jelly Bean to visit his army friends' houses.
However, Heaton did not expect that this would cause Little Jelly Bean to have a misconception that she lacked her father's love.
Heaton sat down by the bed and patiently explained to the little munchkin. "Daddy always wanted to go to the parent-child activity classes with Jelly Bean before, but grandpa always said that he wanted to go. Grandpa loves Jelly Bean so much that daddy must let grandpa go. Your brother has had no daddy since he was young, but he tells the children in the class that I'm his father. If daddy doesn't go, your brother will be very embarrassed. Does Jelly Bean want to make your brother sad?"
