Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 391

Verian went upstairs to pack Heaton's luggage after dinner.

Then Verian realized that she did not know where Heaton was going or what kind of weather to expect.

She rushed to the study to look for him.

"Heaton, do you know how many cities are on your itinerary? It'll be easier for me to help you pack."

"I will go to London and Dublin first, and then it depends on the situation. Just some random clothes will do. No need to pack anything specific."

Verian leaned against the door frame as she stared at the man at work.

"Well, do you know how long your trip is?"

"At least half a month."

The moment he said that he put his phone down and turned around to look at her. "I'll try my best to come home sooner."

Verian smiled at him in reply.

Then Heaton gestured for her, and as he pulled her onto his lap, he said, "If you're bored, you can call Serene to accompany you, okay?"

"I have no idea what Serene has been up to these days. We haven't been in contact lately. Maybe I should invite her to a hotpot meal next time."

Heaton frowned when she mentioned hotpot. He said, "You shouldn't eat hotpot when you're pregnant. Maybe invite Serene here and have Madam Leah prepare a homemade hotpot for you both. It'll be much healthier than the ones you eat out there."

"Alright, I understand. I won't overeat. Just once in a blue moon. I haven't had hotpot since I got pregnant."

Heaton was satisfied with her reply, but his eyebrows were still raised.

Verian touched his furrowed brows gently. Then Heaton said, "I'm still a little worried. Maybe I'll have Kush stay behind with you."

"What about you?"

"I have other assistants too."

"Like that female assistant with large breasts?"

Heaton chuckled and asked, "Jealous?"

Verian replied casually, "Two lonely adults in a foreign land, far away from home. I trust you, but you are a walking magnet for women. What if she knocks on your door in the middle of the night? Would you want to meet her? Two lonesome adults in a room in the middle of the night…"

"I've fired her."

Verian was shocked, so she asked, "Why'd you fire her?"

"Do I need a reason to do that? My Madam Fudd doesn't like her. That one reason is good enough for me to let her go."

Verian's heart warmed as she leaned against him. She spoke in a soft voice, "Even though I'm happy that you'd do that for me, aren't you afraid that people would call you unreasonable?"

"I enjoy my absolute power."

Verian laughed. "Then, why do you still need to go on a business trip?"

"Alright, since you don't like it, then I won't go."

"Hey… I was only joking."

Heaton touched her long hair as he said, "I was also joking."

"You're lying to me again. Heaton, how do you expect me to trust you? You lie to me so many times in a day!"

Heaton's mood improved significantly when he said, "Oh, that's right, we found a matching bone marrow donor for Madam Gaunt. Yandel had made an appointment for the surgery."

"Really? That's amazing."

"If you're worried, I can send you to South City to keep Madam Gaunt company. You seem to be quite close with the Soans."

Verian's heart warmed again. Even though Heaton did not like to talk about family matters, he still cared about her affairs. He knew who she liked and who she did not.

"If I go to South City when you're overseas for more than ten days, wouldn't Little Jelly Bean feel lonely? Madam Gaunt should be fine since she has a matching bone marrow donor now. Besides, Xylean and my brother will take good care of her, so I'm not worried about her surgery. I shall stay at home and keep Little Jelly Bean company."

"That's good too. Don't wander off. Yandel told me that Jean hadn't been caught yet, so you won't exactly be safe in South City."

Verian hugged his neck and gently nuzzled against him. "Heaton, I have a family now, with you and Little Jelly Bean. I feel like my world is wholesome now. After my parent's death, I have always felt like the loneliest person in the world, but now, it's all thanks to you that I'm no longer lonely. Thank you."

The man lowered his head to kiss her temple. "Madam Fudd, I refuse to accept verbal gratitude."

How could Heaton think so inappropriately when they were talking about something so serious? Verian blushed.

Heaton immediately carried her in his arms and strode out of his study. He said, "I won't be able to hug, kiss, or feel you for a long while in the coming days. I could actually die."

Verian was speechless.

Verian felt annoyed too.
