Verian was lying on the bed, deep asleep.
Her breathing was shallow and her eyelashes were very long, Heaton gazed at her softly, his thin lips quirked into a satisfied smile. In a good mood, he planted a tender kiss on her forehead.
Verian slept for about half an hour and when she woke up, it was already dark outside.
She was starving after a round of exercise.
Heaton asked, “Are you hungry?”
“Yeah, I’m craving for pickled fish.”
‘Pickled fish? Well, well,’ Heaton thought to himself.
Heaton pulled her up. “Come, let’s go eat.”
As Verian was putting on her clothes, she asked, “Does this kind of high-class hotel serve pickled fish? I also want to eat fried rice cakes…”
“Since my wife wants to eat it, I’ll fire the chef if he doesn’t dare to make it.”
Verian covered her face and giggled, the scene of the chef’s silly face flashing across her mind.
As a chef in a seven-star hotel, he must have felt despair upon the request to make pickled fish and fried rice cakes.
…
After entering the elevator, Heaton suddenly walked behind her and raised his hands to cover her eyes.
Verian subconsciously lifted her hands to grab his. “Uhm… Why are you covering my eyes?”
With a pleasant, musky male pheromone scent emitting from his body, he breathed heavily and intimately beside her ear before whispering in a gruff voice, “I have a surprise for you.”
“Surprise? What surprise?”
“You’ll find out soon.”
The elevator bell rang, and they had arrived at the top floor.
They slowly walked out of the elevator with Heaton guiding her from behind.
Verian was impatient. “Can I open my eyes now?”
Heaton led her to the dining table and retracted his hands from her eyes. At the same time, the man lowered his head so that he could meet her eyes and gently said, “Mrs. Fudd, happy first wedding anniversary.”
Verian was at a loss for words.
She was dumbfounded. He had remembered their anniversary?
Before her, there were fireflies everywhere, fluttering and dancing around them. As she shifted her gaze to the dining table, there was a bottle of champagne and a single candle on the table, surrounded by a bunch of colorful balloons attached around the table. Amongst the colorful balloons, one of the biggest balloons that stood out the most had the words “Our first anniversary” printed on it. The rooftop terrace was enclosed by a transparent glass dome and as she lifted her head, she could see the starry sky through it.
All of this…had been specially arranged by him.
However…
“How did you know I’d be back today?”
