Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 454

"Serene Ludd! You're still with this b*stard?!"

Serene's mother fumed as she stormed into the apartment. Rage had utterly overtaken her sanity, and when she failed to find any weapons in the living room, she ran into the kitchen to grab a broom so that she could beat her daughter with it!

"Why won't you listen to me? Why didn't you remember what I said?!"

Serene recoiled in pain before Wilson immediately shielded her in his arms.

The broomstick struck Wilson's back!

Serene's mother yelled, "Beat it! You have no right to intervene when I'm disciplining my daughter!"

Wilson hugged the woman in his arms tightly; he did not intend to let her go. He said determinedly, "Aunty, this is all my fault. I was clinging to Serener; it has nothing to do with her."

"So, you're not willing to move aside? Very well! I'll beat you too!"

The broom was made of plastic, and Serene's mother was quite heavy-handed with it, so it did not take long before the broom broke. However, that did not quell her mother's anger, so she grabbed a metal rod from the cloth hanger instead. The pain that Wilson felt with each strike had been very genuine.

Serene could even feel the man tremble from the impact.

Her eyes reddened as she pleaded with her mother. "Mom, please stop beating him! It's my fault, alright?"

She wanted to break free from Wilson's arms as she did not wish for him to endure her mother's beatings for her sake. However, Wilson kept her in his arms, so she could only plead with her mother.

"Mom… Stop beating him... Please, I beg you. I'm sorry!"

Serene's father could no longer bear to watch it. He tried to stop his wife, but it had no use. Finally, he snatched the metal rod from her and tossed it aside. "Enough! Do you really think beating her could solve anything? Let's all sit down and talk this through!"

Serene's mother scoffed; she was still fuming. She said, "Sit down and talk it through? Just look at them. Will they listen to us? Don't you think she had changed?"

Wilson reached out to wipe Serene's tears as he softly asked, "Are you hurt?"

Serene sobbed and shook her head frantically. She reached out to touch his back and said, "What about you? Does it hurt?"

Serene's mother glared at them furiously. She did not want to see the display of affection between them, so she sat at the dining table and said, "Serene Ludd, I will let you decide. Continue to date this man, but never call us your parents again. You may not worry about shame, but your father and I certainly do."

It was better to date a single scum than a married man.

Other people would call her disgraceful and immoral!

"Mom… Wilson… Wilson's already divorced."

A flash could be seen in her parents' eyes before Seren's mother turned to look at her and said, "What did you say?"

Wilson said, "Uncle, Aunty, Ruby and I were only married on paper. We were not together, and I have already divorced her. I am a single man, and I have the right to be with Serene."

Serene's mother scoffed and said, "Serene Ludd, how could you believe nonsense like that? This man divorced his wife for your sake today; he could do the same to you with his mistresses next time! Serene Ludd, I forbid you from dating this man! If you insist, then you're on your own!"

"Mom…" Serene wiped her tears as she said, "Why must you force me like this?"

"Me? Forcing you? You're the one who forced my hand! What do you think our neighbors would say if they saw you with this man? You may not care about that, but your father and I do. They will say that we did not teach you well. Think about us, Serene Ludd, and when you do, you'll know that you shouldn't stay with this man!"
