Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 506

Verian was completely unfocused as she sat in the backseat during their drive back to the Fudd family home.

Little Jelly Bean blinked at Verian before she grabbed onto her arm and shook it. She said, "Monty, I want to play games. May I borrow your phone?"

"Oh, sure."

Verian snapped out of her trance and fished her phone from her bag before she handed it to Little Jelly Bean.

As Heaton drove, he glanced at the mother and daughter duo from the rearview mirror. "Jelly Bean, using the phone in the car is bad for your eyes."

Little Jelly Bean mumbled, "I was only playing for a bit."

The little rascal snapped back at him in a childish manner. However, Heaton decided to ignore her. He was a bit worried about Verian instead. Ever since she had a conversation with that judge, she seemed lost.

Heaton raised his brows slightly and asked, "What did Judge Fox say to you? Why are you so quiet?"

She should be happy since she made it to the finals. Why was she so troubled?

Verian had not thought about how she should talk to Heaton about that, so she squeezed her palms and said, "Nothing. Just a little stressed out since I got into the finals so suddenly. I need to think of a new entry."

"Don't treat it as a competition. Just think of it as a game. Of course, winning is nice, but we have no reason to be depressed if we've lost. So, you shouldn't feel too burdened. Just sit back and enjoy the ride."

Verian smiled and replied obediently, "Alright."

Everything would be easy as long as Heaton was with her.

The man always had the power to make anyone feel safe. Perhaps it was due to his ability to settle all of her blunders so smoothly all the time. Maybe it was due to Verian's love for him, so she was willing to believe in him.

Little Jelly Bean immediately ran to the living room to watch cartoons when they arrived home. Verian was not motivated or excited about the finals; she sat alone in the backyard as she watched the twilight sun. She seemed very hesitant about something.

The Royal Beauty Academy in England was the most prestigious art academy in the world. However, her entire focus should be on her husband and children after she married Heaton. Since she already had her second child, her focus should be even more invested in her family.

She thought about waiting until Little Pickle turned three when he could speak and hop around; she would be able to relax and do the things she wanted then. Perhaps she could continue her career in art. Her plans had been perfect for herself. She had already given birth to two children and cut ties with the working society; could she work again after a few years?

There was no perfect solution for both family and career. More often than not, one would have to sacrifice one in the pursuit of the other.

Heaton spent a brief time working in the study, and he did not see Verian when he went downstairs.

Madam Leah had prepared dinner. She said, "Sir, when I went to pick some vegetables from the backyard, I noticed Madam sitting alone in the backyard for a really long time. She seemed troubled by something, and she did not even notice it when I called out to her several times. Sir, did you argue with Madam?"

A shred of worry flashed in Heaton's eyes as he said, "No. I'll take a look."

When Heaton arrived at the backyard, he noticed the woman had her face lowered as if she was in deep thought.

"What are you thinking about?"

The man approached her. He stood next to her as he placed his long slender hand on her tender white nape and gently rubbed it.
