Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 552

The helicopter flew steadily across valleys and islands.

As Wilson looked at the person next to him, he said, "We still have a long way to go before we reach our destination. Close your eyes and go to sleep."

Since Dark Shadow kidnapped her, Wilson thought she might not have had a good night's sleep or a good meal. She must be exhausted after the ordeal. It was true that Serene felt tired. However, she did not want to sleep; she was alive and well in the helicopter and with Wilson by her side.

Even though it was dark, the woman stared intensely at the man's handsome face.

She had yearned to stare at that handsome face for a really long time.

They had not seen each other for half a month, nor did they have any contact with each other. For those who had suddenly parted ways, ten days of complete radio silence would feel like years had gone past.

Wilson seemed to know that the woman had been staring at him. "I will not disappear, and I won't abandon you now. You can rest. You'll still be able to see me when you wake up."

However, women were greedy creatures. As Serene continued to stare at him, she asked, "What happens after that then? Will you still abandon me in the future?"

She focused on his every word. He said that he would not abandon her, and that meant he would not leave her temporarily. What about the future?

Wilson's throat twitched, and after a brief pause, he finally spoke, "We'll talk about the future when the time comes."

He could not bear to refuse her. However, he could not promise her anything.

Serene bit her lips. There were glints of light in her beady eyes as she persisted. "But you love me, right? Then why would you still break up with me? I know that you love me; else you wouldn't risk your life to save me. Why must you lie? I want an answer."

"Little brat…"

She started to cry.

She buried her tiny face in between her knees like an injured beast. She sobbed as her slender shoulders twitched uncontrollably.

She had not even cried when she was kidnapped by Dark Shadow, not even when she was held for two to three days. Even if she was afraid when a gun was pointed at her head, she kept herself calm as she desperately tried to stall the assailant to buy herself some time.

However, she was utterly safe then, and she was even with the man she loved. When she finally relaxed, she cried her lungs out.

"Why must you abandon me… Master…"

Wilson's heart thumped and pounded when he heard her sobs.

The woman called him 'Master' in her sobbing pleas as if she had completely entrusted him with everything, and yet, he had cruelly abandoned her trust.

Serene cried her hearts out, and when she raised her drenched face to look out of the helicopter, she tried to describe everything that had happened to her.

"They kidnapped me to intimidate you… I wanted you to save me…but I didn't dare to hope for it... I was afraid you don't care about me anymore… I was afraid that you don't want me anymore…"

Her eyes were completely red as she continued to bawled. She looked like an abandoned little kitten, and it was extremely pitiful.

She sobbed and spoke in fragments, "But… But I was also afraid of you coming to save me…because I was worried that you might be in danger… However…I was delighted….when you actually came for me…"

Wilson tightened his grip on the controls, and his eyes felt warm.
