Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 565

Serene turned around and was about to enter the office when Chainer grabbed her arm.

Serene pulled back and turned around to look at him. "Is there anything else you need?"

"Come on, Serene. Can't we talk about other stuff besides these usual platitudes?"

Serene was amused. "Mr. Chainer, have you forgotten that we are no longer together? On top of that, we broke up a long time ago. I have a boyfriend now, and you have a fiancée; we shouldn't meet privately considering our current situation. If you want to send us your wedding invitation, you can get Gwen to give it to Wilson since they're related."

"But you have your card, and he has his. You guys are not married yet, right?"

Serene answered frankly, "Even though we're not married yet, we'll get married eventually."

A trace of unhappiness flashed in Chainer's eyes. "Are you really planning to marry him?"

Serene stared at him in disbelief and started to laugh. "Mr. Chainer, I don't think it's any of your business."

"You don't know anything about Wilson Jarret!"

"Whether I know him or not, that's my business. I still have work to do, so I'll take my leave."

Chainer gritted his teeth and said, "Do you know what he did back then? He had always plotted to get into your pants!"

She had her hands stuffed into the pockets of her white coat as she stopped in her tracks.

"What do you mean?"

Chainer scanned the surroundings and tried to refrain himself. He said, "This is not a good place to talk; let's find a nearby café. You'll be having your lunch break later, right? If you're afraid that you'll be disappointed after finding out Wilson's secret, we'll call it off then."

Serene knew that Chainer wanted to arouse her curiosity. However, it was related to Wilson; even if she did not want to be with Wilson anymore, she wanted to know the secret that Chainer mentioned.

They were in the hospital's café downstairs.

Serene spoke as soon as she sat down, "Tell me."

Chainer knew she was not in the mood to catch up. So, he nodded and said, "Alright. I've been hiding this from you for a long time, and I'm sorry about that."

Chainer gulped, crossed his hands, and rested them on the table as he continued to say, "Do you know how Gwen and I got together?"

Serene's brows furrowed. "I'm not interested to know about you and Gwen."

"That's fair, but Wilson was the reason we got together. Gwen was a performing arts major student at North City University, and both of you were from the same year. Gwen and I met when I joined a basketball competition at North City University. She fell in love with me at first sight. Even though I told her that I have a girlfriend, she clung to me."

Serene's patience wore thin. "Chainer, can you get straight to the point?"

"Then, you started your internship. Do you remember that time when I went to the hospital to pick you up? Gwen was also at the same hospital; she was there to look for Wilson as she had stomach flu. Somehow, Wilson learned that Gwen liked me, and soon after, we went out for drinks. He drank me under the table, so I messed up, and I slept with Gwen."

Serene was confused. "So, you're saying that Wilson wanted to separate us?"

"That's right. He got me drunk because he wanted to get you. He knew that Gwen had feelings for me, so she would give in to me, no matter what. He deliberately separated us."

Serene was speechless.

Had Wilson plotted to get her all those years ago?

However, when did Wilson start to have feelings for her?

She remembered that she had barely started her internship with Wilson when Chainer cheated on her. Did Wilson fall in love with her at first sight, too?
