After Serene was done with her workday in the hospital back at North City, she had the inkling that someone was following her.
She kept looking back as she walked. However, after observing for a good long while, she could not see anyone following behind her. Therefore, she assumed it was only her pregnancy that was making her feel so jittery.
She walked all the way back home and just as she was about to open the door, a man’s voice could be heard behind her.
“You’re Wilson’s girlfriend, Serene, right?”
Serene was startled and dropped her keys.
The moment she turned around to look back, she noticed an elderly man in his sixties dressed in a Chinese tunic suit behind her.
“You, who are you? What do you want?”
Serene was staring cautiously at the stranger. She had grown extremely cautious after being kidnapped previously by Dark Shadow.
She took out her pepper spray from her bag and told the elderly man, “I’m telling you, I’ll scream if you dare kidnap me right now. You’ll be so screwed if I catch the attention of my neighbors and security. You won’t be able to escape this district.”
Stephen chuckled and spoke in a friendly tone, “Who told you I’m going to kidnap you, little brat? I’m Wilson’s godfather. Has Wilson never told you about me before?”
Serene frowned and after being stunned for quite some time, she said, “You-you’re Wilson’s godfather? I’ve never seen Wilson’s godfather before so how can you prove that fact?”
Stephen took out a picture from his wallet. It was a picture of him and Wilson. They both had neutral expressions in that picture. However, they were relaxed and she could tell they were quite close to each other.
However, Serene felt the need to be absolutely certain, so she said, “You know pictures can be photoshopped in this day and age. How do I know if that picture is real?”
“I know Wilson’s matters better than you do. I also know that Wilson is currently on a mission.”
Serene was a little shocked. She asked, “How’d you know?”
“Because I sent him there.”
Serene instinctively asked, “Then you must know where he’s headed to, right?”
Stephen chuckled gleefully and said, “I can tell you where Wilson’s assigned to. Heck, I can even send you to him. However, I have a request.”
“What is it?”
“Make me a good meal.”
Serene was baffled as she said, “...Are you an actual man-child?”
Stephen was speechless.
Not a single person dared talk to him like that in his entire lifetime. However, it seemed this little brat was the first.
Serene was absolutely desperate to know where Wilson was. Since the elderly man claimed he was Wilson’s godfather, she found it rude if she did not invite him in for some tea.
After Stephen entered the house with Serene, he looked around the house and lamented, “Your house is this small? Is Wilson unable to afford a bigger home for you? He has properties all over the world over recent years. It should be a cakewalk for him to buy his girlfriend a huge house.”
Serene rolled her eyes at him while pouring him a drink. She said, “Old man…”
“What did you call me?”
