Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 586

By the time Wilson returned from the field, Serene had already finished her shower. She wrapped her wet hair with a pink towel while her face blushed with a healthy pink tone from the heat. Her skin tone was extremely even without makeup on and even with a closer look, not a single pore could be seen on her face. She looked like a freshly peeled egg and was extremely tender.

“You’re back.”

Wilson stared intensely at her with his dark eyes. He then approached her and immediately hugged her.

Serene was slightly stunned as the towel fell from her head, revealing her messy wet hair.

“Don’t do anything that dangerous for me ever again.”

Serene could not react in time as she asked, “Huh? What dangerous thing?”

Wilson stared directly at her as he said, “In order to look for the Southern Star herb, you were surrounded by a pack of wolves and if Ruby had not made it in time, do you know what your outcome would’ve been?”

Serene puffed up her little face when she noticed his stern demeanor as she said, “But I just can’t sit around and do nothing. I can’t watch you die, right? I wanted to do something for you too and if Ruby could do it, so can I.”

Serene then lowered her little face slightly before continuing, “They said that we’re incompatible with each other but what right do they have to say that we are? I just wanted to prove to them that if Ruby could risk her life for yours, I can too. I love you more than anything and I want to be worthy of your love as well.”

Wilson’s throat twitched as his heart raced subtly. He said, “I don’t need you to prove yourself to me. All I want is for you to be safe and stay by my side.”

Serene bit her lips as she replied, “I know I’m useless since I was on my way to look for the Southern Star herb to save you but instead, I had to be saved by Ruby.”

Wilson reached out and hugged the woman in his arms tightly as he said, “You’re really brave and amazing too.”

Upon hearing his praises, Serene squinted her huge eyes gleefully before looking up cheerfully at him. She said, “Really? Honestly, I feel that I’m awesome as well. You know, I was not even the slightest bit afraid when I was attacked by a pack of wolves. Even if Ruby didn’t show up to save me, I could’ve totally killed those wolves with my own bare hands.”

When Wilson listened to the woman in his arms boasting about herself, his heart wrenched. She must have felt extremely terrified when she was being attacked by the pack of wolves.

However, she still brought the Southern Star herb back even when she was in a situation like this.

His woman sure was brave.

Wilson’s gaze grew increasingly gentle as he stared at her while patiently listening to the woman mumble next to his ears.

However, after talking for a good long while, Serene frowned again and spoke in an honest tone, “The truth is, I’m not that awesome. When I slipped in the snow, I realized that I bruised my knee when I took a shower earlier.”

The man carried her from his lap to the bed and spoke in a soft deep tone, “Let me have a look.”

The man rolled up her pants with his huge hands.

There was a bruised patch on the woman’s knee.

Wilson frowned and said, “I’ll grab some medicine for your bruise from the infirmary.”

Joan was just about to head back to her room and call it a day when Wilson arrived at the infirmary.

“What are you doing here?”

“I’m here for some medicine.”

Joan asked, “What medicine?”

“For bruises.”

Joan stared at him with a teasing look before saying, “What did you do to someone else’s daughter?”

Wilson replied, “... Stop thinking with your perverted mind. Serene bruised her knee.”

Joan laughed harder as she said, “Oh, bruised her knee you say? Did you do it?”

Wilson was speechless.

He completely ignored the woman!

After Wilson brought the medicine back, he placed Serene’s leg on his lap and started applying the ointment on her knee with his huge hands.
