Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 587

Serene’s mother looked shocked as she exclaimed, “... You, what did you say?”

Serene instinctively realized what she had said as her face turned instantly pale. She stuttered, “Mom, I, I…”

Serene’s mother glared intensely at her as she held back her rage before asking her clearly, “Serene Ludd, is it true that you’re pregnant?”

Serene did not deny the truth about her pregnancy so she said, “Mom, I’m sorry, I…”

“Slap!”

A loud clear slap landed on Serene’s face.

A red palm print instantly formed on the woman’s small and tender white face.

Serene held onto her right cheek as tears fell.

Wilson did not expect Serene’s mother to actually hit her own daughter so the man immediately shielded her behind his body as he said, “Aunty, I respect you because you’re Serene’s mother and my elder but this doesn’t mean I can watch you hit Serene.”

Although Wilson's tone sounded polite, his voice was extremely cold.

Serene’s mother scoffed as she said, “You have no right to intervene as a stranger when I’m disciplining my own daughter! Get over here, Serene Ludd!”

Wilson hugged her tightly and Serene’s mother had no choice but to storm back into the house furiously.

Wilson lowered his head to kiss the woman’s forehead as he comforted her, “Don’t worry.”

Sooner or later they would still have to endure this entire ordeal and delaying it would do nothing to solve the problem. Thus, Wilson entered the house while hugging Serene.

Serene’s mother was sitting on the couch. She had a bitter look and an extremely menacing gaze.

Serene was behaving like a guilty child as she hid behind Wilson’s body while gripping onto the corners of the man’s shirt.

Serene’s mother’s glare seemed as if she was about to completely swallow Serene whole. It was extremely intimidating.

Wilson spoke in a deep voice, “Aunty, it’s not Serene’s fault for her to get pregnant. If you think she’s at fault then it’s my fault too. I got Serene pregnant with my child.”

Upon noticing Wilson’s confident demeanor, Serene’s mother grew even more furious as she exclaimed, “How could you still speak so much when you got my daughter pregnant?!”

“Aunty, Serene and I both love each other dearly.”

Serene’s mother replied, “Hmph, you both are in love with each other? You were in love with your ex-wife too, right! Now however, you’re able to toss her aside and tell my naive Serene that you love her? She’s still young and naive so she’ll believe nonsense men like you say!”

Serene could not hold herself back from speaking up for Wilson as she stood forward and said, “Mom, you’ve misunderstood Wilson already. He didn’t marry Ruby for love and he did that because…”

The instant Serene’s mother heard that, she raised her brows and said, “Didn’t do it for love? This man is scary then! He’s capable of marrying anyone! If he can marry you now, he can divorce you later and go on ahead to marry someone else!”

“Mom! Why do you view Wilson with such a judgemental mind?! His previous marriage isn’t even real so why isn’t he worthy to marry me then? We both truly love each other! Mom, it doesn’t matter if you approve of us or not, I will still marry Wilson!”

Serene furiously vented her pent up frustrations and this infuriated her mother so much, her hands were shaking. Serene’s mother said, “Serene Ludd, you’re going to go against us, now? Since when have you become so shameless? You’d shame yourself just to marry him?”

Wilson lifted the woman’s little head next to him and spoke in a serious tone, “Aunty, Serene is the only woman I’ve ever loved in my entire life. I didn’t want to marry her because of her being pregnant with my child but instead, I want to marry her because I’ve spent years preparing for this. I hope you both can give us your blessings.”
