Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 593

On their way home, Serene asked Wilson out of curiosity, “Why did you tell Teacher Zaden that you’ve met him before? You were not in this country back then. How was it possible that you’ve met him before?”

“It was ten years ago.”

Wilson did not have the intention to hide the truth from her.

Serene tried to recall what happened ten years ago and subconsciously covered her mouth in surprise. Her eyes widened. “You… could it be that you’ve been secretly watching me all along?”

Wilson stopped his footsteps abruptly, fixated his gaze on her and said, “Though I’ve never participated in your past, I wanted to know and understand more about you. Not only I wanted to be involved in your past and future, but I also wanted to spend my life with you.”

Serene was touched upon hearing his words. However… she could not comprehend the reason why he would take a liking to the Serene ten years ago.

“... But I didn’t look pretty at that time. I was short and skinny and my body wasn’t fully developed yet. Why did you like me ten years ago?”

Wilson answered in a half-jokingly manner, “I like green apples.”

Serene was at a loss for words.

When Serene came back to her senses, she exclaimed, “What a pervert! I’m not a green apple. You are!”

Wilson hugged her abruptly to stop her from messing around. With his warm breath blowing into her ears, he whispered in a deep, raspy voice, “Ten years. The long wait didn’t go to waste. My green apple has finally grown up and become mature.”

Although Wilson sounded serious as he spoke, Serene misunderstood and said, “Wilson, why are you such a pervert!”

Wilson was unperturbed. He held her hands and continued walking back home. “Come. Let’s go home and get a good rest.”

Serene was speechless.

After spending a few days in Clear River Town, they had to return to North City. Serene’s mother prepared a lot of delicacies and stuffed them all into Wilson’s car.

Before they left, Serene’s mother purposely spared some time to brief her about matters that she had to take note of as she was currently pregnant.

When they returned to North City, Serene took a few days off work. Hence, Wilson made use of those days to bring her to a haute couture wedding gown shop to try on some wedding gowns.

“The first time I entered a bridal shop was when I accompanied Verian to try on wedding dresses.”

Wilson smiled faintly. “What’s so interesting about accompanying someone in trying on wedding gowns? You should try on some gowns instead.”

The shop manager approached them and put on a polite smile on her face. “Mr. Jarret, the wedding dress you requested just arrived today. Do you want Mrs. Jarret to try it on now?”

‘Mrs. Jarret…’

Serene blushed upon hearing how the manager addressed her.

Wilson nodded and said, “Yes.”

As the staff took out the wedding gown, Serene’s eyes gleamed in amazement. The wedding dress was extremely beautiful but from a glance, it looked expensive.

Serene inched closer to Wilson and muttered, “Is this wedding dress exceptionally expensive? It probably costs around five figures, right?”

The staff and the manager who was standing near Serene naturally heard what she said. Thus, the manager answered Serene with a smile, “Mrs. Jarret, in fact, this wedding gown…”

Wilson interrupted the manager abruptly. “This wedding dress doesn’t even cost five figures. It’s only five thousand and it’s worth the price. Go ahead and try it on.”

“Really? Is it possible to have such a high cost-performance ratio?”

Serene walked toward the wedding gown hanging on a garment rack and scrutinized the diamonds embedded on the gown. She then asked Wilson in hesitation, “Wilson, these are real diamonds, right?”

If they were real diamonds, the mere diamond beads would have cost more than five thousand!

The manager felt awkward. She then tried to explain to Serene. “Mrs. Jarret, this is Africa’s…”

Wilson abruptly interrupted the manager again, “Rhinestone.”

Wilson then stood behind Serene and murmured in a soft, gentle voice, “I find that this gown suits you perfectly. Go ahead and try it on. I can afford to get a five-thousand bucks wedding gown, so I wish to see you in a wedding gown. Is that okay?”

Serene felt at ease after hearing Wilson’s reassuring words. Like a cat that ate the canary, she beamed with her squinty eyes. “Okay, I’ll try it on then.”

The staff then pushed the garment rack while guiding Serene into the fitting room. “Mrs. Jarret, this way.”

As Serene entered the dressing area, the manager could not help but remind Wilson. “Mr. Jarret, the piece Mrs. Jarret is trying on is a haute couture wedding gown. The price is five million, and not five thousand.”

Wilson glared at the manager with an aloof gaze and said, “I know.”

“But just now…”

“My wife is a frugal person. She doesn’t like to be extravagant. When I’m paying for it later, do tell her that the gown is only five thousand and there’s a 20% discount on it.”

“... Alright, alright.”
