Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 592

Wilson stayed for a few days at Clear River Town to accompany Serene. One night, after their dinner, Serene’s mother chased Wilson and Serene out of the house to take a stroll around the neighborhood.

Their evening stroll allowed everyone in town to know how Serene’s boyfriend looked like.

Serene muttered, “It seems like my mom just wanted me to show you off in front of everyone, telling everyone in town how her future son-in-law looks like.”

Wilson’s eyes gleamed as he looked at her. “How do I look?”

Initially, Serene wanted to say that he was handsome and could charm the pants off anyone. However, she glanced at him and intentionally answered, “You’re just a person who has a pair of eyes, a nose and a mouth. There’s nothing spectacular about your appearance.”

She was afraid that he might be too full of himself if she were to praise him.

Serene wondered to herself, ‘Have the townspeople not met any handsome-looking men in their lives? Why are their eyes all riveted on Wilson?’

The man muttered into her face on purpose, “Does that mean I’m just an ordinary person in your eyes?”

In this town, many people loitered and exercised in the neighborhood around this time in the evening. As everyone were neighbors, most of them knew each other, and even if they did not, they would still look familiar.

Many people had already greeted Serene as they took a stroll in the neighborhood.

However, their intention was to ask about her future husband and not merely to greet her.

From a distance, two girls in sportswear were jogging toward Serene.

“Hi, Serene!”

“Long time no see! Is this your boyfriend? He’s so handsome!”

The two girls were the children of Serene’s neighbor. They were considered as her childhood playmates. However, as they grew up, everyone studied in different places respectively and gradually did not have a common topic to talk about anymore. Hence, they seldom kept in contact and the friendship they had when they were young slowly faded.

Serene subconsciously put her hands around Wilson’s arms which was a small gesture that was undoubtedly to establish dominance over him.

“Long time no see.”

The two girls smiled and said, “Aren’t you going to introduce your boyfriend to us?”

Serene put on a polite smile on her face. “This is my fiance, Wilson. We’re going to be married soon.”

“Ah, congratulations.”

After greeting Serene and Wilson, the two girls continued jogging while whispering to each other.

“Serene’s boyfriend is so handsome! She’s so blessed to have him in her life!”

“I know, right? I wonder what his family background is.”

“Hah. From my experience, handsome guys usually come from a mediocre family.”

Serene sighed heavily. She looked at Wilson's captivating face and frowned. “You’re too good looking. There were so many people staring at you just now.”

“This implies that your future husband is outstanding. I must say, you have a good taste in men.”

Like a kid who was afraid of her sweets being stolen, Serene tightly wrapped her hands around his arms and huffed in disdain, “You’re mine after all.”

As they were leisurely walking around the neighborhood, Wilson spotted a school called Clear River Secondary School not far away from them. He asked, “Did you attend high school there?”

“Yeah. Do you want me to show you around?”

His eyes flashed with excitement as he said, “Yeah.”

He did not have the opportunity to participate in her young, ignorant times. However, he always wanted to know everything that happened when she was younger.

Serene led her into the Clear River Secondary School. At this time, classes were already over and the students had gone back home. Hence, the school guard permitted them to enter the field for exercise.

Hand in hand, Wilson and Serene took a slow walk around the school compound while bathing under the evening rays.
