Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 615

On the other hand, Blaine had kidnapped Ruby. Unfortunately, Ruby was not someone that one could kidnap so easily.

She bargained with Blaine in the car. "Stephen Mountain is not dead yet; I can't follow you back to C country until I'm sure he's dead. I will fulfill my promise and go to C country with you. Furthermore, I still have guests at my mansion."

Even though she knew that Heaton would not steal her stuff, how could she leave him alone there?

Blaine looked at her. "I'm not as shameless or cruel as you think. I shall agree to it, under the condition that you do not break our contract."

Ruby sneered. Did he mean that she was the shameless one? That she would be the type of person that would go back on her word?

When they reached Mount Hope, Ruby entered the mansion.

Heaton was on the phone with Verian on the balcony. Ruby did not realize that he was on the phone as she yelled, "Hey Assassin, I can't let you stay here for the next few days. You—"

Heaton hushed Ruby with a finger to his lip; Ruby realized that he was on the phone.

Verian, on the other end, heard a woman's voice, and she could recognize that it was a beautiful young woman's voice.

She got suspicious, so she asked curiously, "I just heard a woman's voice. Where are you right now?"

Heaton could not explain his whereabouts to her; the situation would get even messier if he did. So, he said, "That was the TV."

Verian did not believe him. "Is it? But I heard that voice talking to you…"

"Don't be crazy. I'll be home soon."

Women are curious creatures, Verian included. "Heaton Fudd, where the hell are you right now?"

Heaton could not tell Verian that he was in Z country. If Verian rushed over there, it would be dangerous for her. After all, Z country was not too peaceful, and Stephen was still in Z country. If anything were to happen to Verian, he would die of regrets.

Heaton averted her questions; he was afraid if he lied and told her the name of another country, Verian would end up there as well.

He said, "Riana, do you not have faith in yourself? Or your husband?"

Verian mumbled, "You've been acting weird recently. You suddenly left on a business trip. Also, you used to tell me where you're headed. But I've asked you many times, and you still won't tell me where you are right now. Heaton Fudd, are you having an affair? If you have another lover, I'm taking Little Jelly Bean and Little Pickle away, and you will never be able to find us. You'll regret it for the rest of your life."

Heaton softened when he heard Verian's threats. He laughed gently. "Mrs. Fudd, I don't have the energy to have another lover. You and Little Jelly Bean are my two lovers at home, and you two are more than I can handle. Why would I add another one to the list?"

Verian harrumphed in defeat. "We'd better be."

When Verian hung up the phone, her eyelid twitched. Her instincts told her that Heaton was hiding something from her.

Little Jelly Bean carried a bunch of wooden blocks. "Monty, play with me!"

Verian was distracted, so she kept making little mistakes. Little Jelly Bean glared at her and said, "Monty, why are you so distracted? Are you missing Daddy?"

Verian looked at her daughter's innocent face and said, "Little Jelly Bean, I just spoke with your father on the phone. I heard a beautiful young woman's voice with him. Please call your father later to remind him that he has a wife and children at home."
