After waking up naturally from their sleep the following day, Wilson took Serene out to have a meal before heading over to the wedding gown shop to choose her wedding dress.
When Serene went to try on her wedding dress, Wilson was still traumatized from their previous attempt so he got up and was about to accompany Serene into the fitting room.
However, the staff reminded him with a smile, “Mr. Jarret, don’t worry, I’ll follow Madam Jarret in. Just wait here since it’s not appropriate for a man to enter a woman’s fitting room.
Serene blushed. She also felt that Wilson was overreacting by doing so. She said, “Just wait for me here. If I run into any oddly suspicious people, or anyone at all, I’ll scream immediately.”
Wilson finally relaxed after that. However, after Serene entered the fitting room, Wilson felt extremely anxious.
Until…
A loud scream could be heard coming from the fitting room.
Wilson frowned and immediately got up and rushed over as he asked, “Serene! What’s wrong!”
Serene’s bashful voice could be heard coming from the fitting room again. She said, “I’m fine, Wilson. I’m completely fine, just return to your seat and wait for me. I… well, this gown needs to be loosened from the back as it feels so tight and suffocating for me.”
Wilson stood outside of the fitting room and immediately scolded the staff. He said, “Do you even know what you’re doing? How could you tighten the corset so much until your customer starts to scream? Have your managers even given you any professional training at all?”
The staff were helplessly speechless. She was innocent though!
Serene’s soft voice could be heard once again coming from the fitting room, “You can’t blame her, Wilson. I’m just not used to wearing a wedding dress with a corset!”
Wilson’s bitter look only calmed down after that. However, he was still standing outside the fitting room. He never left.
When he previously accompanied Serene to pick out a wedding dress, he was outside the store and this had not only resulted in Serene being kidnapped by Stephen but she became a puppet assassin and that entire ordeal came at the cost of losing their first child as well. This ordeal would forever be traumatic to Wilson.
When Serene finally came out of the fitting room fully dressed in her wedding gown, she cracked an adorable little smile on her face. She stood in front of Wilson and asked while beaming, “What do you think?”
Since Serene had a naturally innocent look on her face, donning a pure white wedding gown made her look even more majestically elegant and pure.
Wilson was staring intensely at the woman. He praised her, “Beautiful.”
Serene fiddled with the skirt as she mumbled, “This dress is a little too long…”
The staff said, “Oh, Madam Jarret, as this is a wedding gown, the longer the gown is, the better. You know, we once had a customer that wanted a three metres long wedding gown.”
“Three metres? Wouldn’t that be a mop then?”
The staff laughed and said, “Oh, Madam Jarret, you’re funny.”
Wilson’s gaze was completely focused on his little wife. His wife looked white, tender and sweet. If she gained a little bit more weight, she would look even better.
“Wilson, let’s get this one then, alright?”
Wilson squinted his eyes slightly as he stared at her from the side while gesturing at her with a single hand. He said, “Turn around and show me.”
Serene felt a little annoyed as she mumbled, “How can I turn around when this dress is so long?”
Although she said that, she still turned around and showed him. She asked, “What do you think?”
“We’ll get it if you like it.”
Wilson initially wanted to fulfil her wishes since she did not want to waste any money, so she decided to pick out a ready-made wedding dress. However, Wilson felt that a regular wedding gown would be unworthy of his Serene but since she liked this gown, he bought it for her. However, they would not be wearing this gown on their wedding since it looked way too simple.
Serene nodded since she did not feel like trying another one. She liked this dress so she said, “Alright then, we’ll get this one!”
After paying for the dress and leaving the store, Serene suddenly said something quite shocking, “Since we have nothing to do at noon, why don’t you call Heaton and ask them if they’re free now?”
Wilson was speechless.
An hour later, they arrived at a VIP room in the Supreme Restaurant.
Serene took out five thousand bucks and said in a confident tone, “I will win back my wedding gown’s money today!”
Verian asked while chuckling, “You guys bought your wedding gown already?”
“Yeah, we’ve just returned from trying it on and spent over ten thousand bucks on it. Goodness me, that stings my heart.”
Serene pouted her lips as she continued, “Wilson was unwilling to let me rent one even though others rented their wedding gowns. Otherwise, I’d rent one too.”
Verian teased, “Serene, you sure are a cheapskate. You know, other women desperately want to wear a wedding gown they bought on their wedding day. You are such a wonderful person though, so why would you complain about Dr. Jarret being unwilling to let you rent one?”
Serene spat her tongue out and said, “I fully intended to win my wedding gown’s money back today anyway! Shuffle up, President Fudd!”
Verian eyeballed Heaton as Heaton replied with a teasing grin, “Did you have some practice?”
“Of course, I’ve practiced hard for several nights in a row now!”
Wilson let out an awkward cough. She had indeed been practicing for several nights in a row, so much so that she would rather play poker than give him any attention!
“Let’s head to the washroom, Heaton.”
Serene frowned and spoke in a judgemental tone, “Wilson, you’re not even a girl. Is it really necessary to go to the toilet with someone?”
Heaton seemed to have a rough idea… of what Wilson wanted to tell him in secret.
Hence, Heaton got up and said, “Let’s go together. You can shuffle the cards first. We’ll be back in a bit.”
Both women watched their men head out to the washroom together.
Verian and Serene stared at them with a strange look…
“Verian, do you think they might be hiding something from us?”
“They wouldn’t… be gay now, would they?”
The instant Serene thought about that, her heart trembled as she glared at Verian. She said, “It has to be your Heaton who seduced my Wilson first! You know, I can prove that my Wilson is a straight man!”
Verian replied, “... What on earth are you on about? Come on now, your Wilson invited my Heaton to the washroom first alright? I can prove to you that my Heaton is also a straight man or else, I wouldn’t have Little Jelly Bean and Little Pickle, right?”
