Lucy turned toward Dan and said politely, "Thank you for sending me home."
Dan nodded. Then he looked at River and said, "Ma'am, please be careful." He turned around and left.
Lucy was in slight shock. River heard Dan called her Ma'am. He asked confusedly, "Lulu, why did the man call you Ma'am?"
Lucy averted the topic. "Silly mistake. It's late. Let's go home."
River was not convinced, so he asked, "Lulu, what happened today? Why did you not answer my calls? Also, why did you leave the hospital? I was worried about you."
Lucy knew River would ask those questions; she took a long breath and said, "I'm so sorry, River. I should have told you. It was my fault; I'm sorry. I didn't know how to explain it to you."
"Lulu, please be honest. Was it your ex-boyfriend?"
Lulu shuddered. She did not plan to lie to him, so she looked down and nodded.
River was concerned about her. "Did he bully you? Let me know where he is! I'll make him pay!"
"River, can you let me handle this matter on my own?" Lucy knew Yanni's personality. If River were to take things into his own hands, he would suffer even more. Furthermore, that had nothing to do with River. If anything were to happen to him, Lucy would feel very bad about that.
"Lulu…"
Lucy turned around and said, "I'm tired; let's go back and rest."
River could only let it go. He followed her as he asked, "Does that man know you're pregnant?"
Lucy nodded. "He knows, but he does not know that the child is his."
"That b*stard! He was the one who dumped you; why is he bothering you now?"
