Lucy was tied down to the operating table. Her hands and feet were bound to the corners of the bed. She looked like a fish, waiting to be slaughtered.
Lucy yelled angrily, “Yanni Quain! You’re insane! Let go of me! Let go!”
The two female doctors stared at each other and asked, “Mr Quain, how… are we going to start the operation?”
Yanni glanced at the two doctors coldly and said indifferently, “Aren’t you going to give her anaesthetic? Just do it.”
Lying on the operation table, Lucy glared at Yanni, “Yanni! I hate you! I hate you!”
The man took a deep breath, turned his back and said, “Go ahead, I don’t care.”
He wanted her for himself only, so he wanted to keep her chained to his side as long as he can.
Lucy’s tears fell from the corner of her eyes. She stared at the man’s back as he walked out of the operating room. Clenching her teeth, she said, “Yanni, you will regret it! You will regret forever for doing this to me!”
Yanni clenched his fist as he stopped at the entrance of the operating room.
Would he regret it? He might in the future, but for now, he was very sure that the child must go if he wanted Lucy to completely cut ties with River Burks.
Yanni closed his eyes, and strode out of the operating room confidently.
Lucy looked at the door closing bit by bit as her heart turned cold…
She lied down like a lamb on the operating table and slowly closed her eyes.
‘Baby, mummy is sorry. Mummy can’t protect you. Sorry, I’m really sorry…’
Yanni stayed outside the operating room.
He was the one who brought Lucy to the operation. The baby inside Lucy’s tummy was not his either but why was his heart aching?
He recalled the resentment on Lucy’s face and suddenly, he felt afraid.
Would Lucy hate him forever?
Did she really care so much about River’s child?
Did that mean she really loves River too?
Yanni leaned against the chair, feeling somewhat suffocated.
He closed his eyes and suddenly thought of Sam. He already felt guilty toward Sam, and now, he was even forcing her biological sister into the abortion.
He thought of how Lucy glared at him with bloodshot eyes and it made him feel extremely sad.
He even began to reflect on his actions.
The door of the operating room was suddenly pushed open when the doctor was about to inject the anaesthetic into Lucy’s body.
She stopped what she was doing and stared blankly at Yanni who barged in suddenly. “Mr. Quain, I am preparing for the operation now. Please wait outside.”
However, Yanni ignored her, strode in, and untied the ropes on Lucy’s hands and feet.
Lucy opened her eyes that were blurred with tears, and unconsciously reached out to cover her lower abdomen.
