Yanni was watching both women outside through the window. They were admiring the flowers in the courtyard and were even joking with each other. That was an incredibly friendly scene to watch.
Although the relationship Yanni had with Guin ended without any specific reason and it was not exactly a real relationship to begin with, he felt guilty as well. Even though nothing really happened between the both of them, Guin was still his ex-girlfriend and in Lucy’s perspective, Guin was considered his actual ex.
Yanni sent Heaton a text while sitting on the couch.
“Please discipline your niece well. She’s no longer a child anymore and you, as her uncle should start caring about her marriage and everything else.”
The instant that text was sent, Heaton replied with a furious text, “If she’s marrying you, I can actually help you rush her.”
Yanni was speechless.
Yanni did not have the effort to joke with him as he took a glance out the window. He noticed how well Guin was getting along with Lucy as if they were already best friends. Although he was unable to eavesdrop on what exactly they were talking about, he could clearly see Guin grinning at him occasionally and this alone was enough for him to know that she was no doubt badmouthing him.
Guin was most likely here for vengeance.
Without beating around the bush, Yanni told Heaton bluntly, “Call your niece home for dinner now.”
Heaton was incredibly calm on the other end of the phone as he replied, “What’s in it for me?”
“Name your price.”
In the Shallow Bay Mansion.
Little Jelly Bean who was wearing a pair of slippers opened the study’s door as she asked, “Daddy, do you have time now? Can you play a game with me?”
Little Jelly Bean was wearing a pair of Donald Duck Slippers as she rushed in. When she was climbing up onto Heaton’s lap, she accidentally touched Heaton’s phone display and sent out the number ‘5’.
Yanni assumed Heaton wanted five million bucks as he replied with, “What an appetite you have.”
A single phone call would cost him five million bucks? Heaton was basically scamming him!
As Heaton hugged Little Jelly Bean, he took a quick glance at his phone as he gently raised his brow while he scoffed lightly.
Since he assumed five million was a lot of money, Heaton decided to go for more.
“I’m sorry, I meant to say 50 million bucks.”
Yanni was speechless.
Heaton was way too shameless!
Heaton followed up with another text, “I’ll give you three minutes to think about it.”
Yanni was speechless.
How unreasonable!
Little Jelly Bean was sitting on Heaton’s lap and was currently downloading a game while complaining to Heaton, “Daddy, the download speed is so slow. It needs three minutes to finish downloading!”
Heaton patted his daughter’s little head and said, “Good girl.”
Heaton then followed up with another text, “My daughter’s game will begin in three minutes and if you don’t hurry, I won’t be free to make that phone call for you later.”
Yanni replied, “... Make that phone call for me right now and I’ll have my assistant transfer the money to you later.”
Heaton replied with an ‘okay’ emoji.
As Yanni stared at that emoji, he somehow felt an incredibly tempting urge to punch Heaton through the phone’s display.
A true scammer friend he was.
Heaton and Little Jelly Bean had just finished a round of games. Verian who was busy drawing downstairs received a bank transaction notification on her phone.
Her bank card was actually a supplementary card tied to Heaton’s account. However, for convenience sake, her card was registered under her own number.
She raised her brows slightly when she read the text since she had just received 50 million bucks. She assumed it was Heaton’s clients who had transferred it into the wrong account.
Hence, Verian went to the study to look for Heaton with her phone. She asked, “I have just received 50 million bucks in my account. Is that a mistake?”
Heaton took a glance at the notification in Verian’s phone and replied with a gentle smile, “Nope. It’s your allowance.”
