Yanni rushed Lucy upstairs to get changed after breakfast.

After Lucy got changed and followed Yanni into his car, she asked, “Where are we going? Don’t you need to go to work today?”

Yanni had already delayed plenty of work when he went searching for her in Peak Valley. Now that they had returned, he was still taking her out to have fun. Would that not affect his work?

Yanni said while driving, “We’ll be getting our marriage certificate.”

Lucy was stunned. She did not expect Yanni would be so hasty in bringing her along to get their marriage certificate. She asked, “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

“What’s the matter?”

“I don’t even have my makeup on and I just literally put on some random clothes.”

Yanni took a glance at her white tender cheeks and said with a slight smile, “I thought you already had your makeup on.”

Lucy was unknowingly smiling as she never realized back then that this man had such a sweet tongue.

Lucy lowered the mirror in the co-driver’s seat, put some foundation on her face then fished out a lipstick from her bag before putting it onto herself. She now had some light makeup on. Therefore, at least this would make her face glow when they had their picture taken.

Yanni was staring at her slightly red puffy lips when she turned to look at him. He desperately wanted to kiss her but he was stopped by Lucy.

“Drive.”

When they stopped at a red light, Yanni hugged Lucy and gave her a kiss as he said, “Madam Quain, you’re seducing me.”

Lucy felt indifferent since all she did was put lipstick on so how exactly was she seducing him?

“Oh, that’s right, I didn’t bring my I.D. or any documents along with me.”

Yanni opened the glove compartment and took out her I.D and other documents.

Lucy was a little surprised as she asked, “When did you take this?”

“While you were asleep. I put this in the car earlier so we wouldn’t forget anything.”

It seemed Yanni was quite excited to marry Lucy.

Yanni hugged Lucy as they entered the Department of Civil Affairs to get their marriage certificate.

When they were about to apply for their marriage certificate, the middle-aged staff member immediately noticed Lucy’s baby bump. She raised her brows slightly and asked in a hostile manner, “Are you guys marrying due to the child? There were plenty of young couples who got married due to their premarital pregnancy. However, in less than half a year, plenty came for a divorce. Let me advise you guys to seriously think about it. Don’t ever force yourselves into a marriage due to a child.”

Lucy was flustered from that remark since a premarital pregnancy was not exactly something to be proud of.

Yanni on the other hand did not seem bothered by it as he held onto Lucy’s hand and placed it on the table. He looked straight at the staff’s eyes and said, “I am absolutely in love with my wife so I got her pregnant beforehand because I was worried that she might be unwilling to marry me. This is like an insurance policy to me.”

Lucy was blushing incredibly heavily. She pinched Yanni’s thigh with her free hand underneath the table.

What nonsense was this man spouting?!

Yanni kept his smile as he spoke to the staff, “So, can we proceed with our application now?”

The staff member was slightly stunned. She did not expect the man to say anything this shameless.

Due to how long the staff member had worked here, situations like these were quite common to them. Usually, it would be the pregnant women who would ask the men to marry them and men would be quite unwilling to. However, situations like the one she was facing now where the man was worried about the woman leaving him even though she being pregnant were truly rare.

Not to mention, the man in front of her looked handsome with detailed and intricate facial features in addition to a really fit body. It was rare for such a flawless man to be so in love with someone.

After taking a long hard look at them, the bitter looking staff finally smiled at them and said, “It seems to me that both of you are actually in love. I wish you both to have a long lasting and fruitful marriage.”

The entire procedure took half an hour and after they exited the Department of Civil Affairs, both of them were each holding onto a little red booklet.

This meant that they were now officially married.
