Ruby was sent to the hospital ward, still unconscious.
The doctor walked out of the ward and reported to Blaine respectfully, “Master Blaine, this lady is suffering from a head concussion. Although it isn’t life-threatening, her condition is rather serious at the moment. As such, we have to wait for her to gain consciousness in order to make a clear judgment on the state of her injury.”
Blaine nodded slightly and answered, “Alright then. You can head back first.”
“Okay.”
Through the glass window, Old K glanced at the girl lying in the ward’s hospital bed and commented, “Master Blaine, this girl is rather interesting. She’s quite daring, isn’t she?”
It was quite rare for a woman to be daring enough to vent her anger at his master and be privileged to be carried on his master’s back.
Blaine stared at the unconscious woman on the patient’s bed intensely. He pursed his lips and asked, “Have you found out anything about the explosion yet?”
A solemn expression immediately appeared on Old K’s face as Blaine brought this up. “Yes. It’s most likely the work of a spy the Light Organization planted in Glacier City to eye on us.”
The man’s gaze was icy-cold. With an impassive voice, Blaine answered, “That old man Stephen has successfully planted a spy in our vicinity. Shouldn’t you be reflecting on our security system right about now?”
Old K was speechless for a moment. “Master, there will be no next time.”
Blaine huffed. “That better be the case.”
While Blaine was not looking at him, Old K quickly wiped away the cold sweat on his forehead and thought to himself, ‘I better hope that I didn’t provoke him this time, otherwise…the underlings and I will have to experience days of suffering!’
Blaine withdrew his sharp gaze from the unconscious woman before turning around to leave. Before he left the hospital, he ordered Old K, “Send someone to stay here and watch over her. Also, give me a detailed report on this woman’s background.”
“Noted.”
…
At Waterfront Pavilion Mansion.
Aside from the palace provided by the Dark Organization, this is the place where Blaine spent most of his nights at.
At midnight, Blaine was flipping through work documents in the study.
