Ruby’s gaze had not once landed on Blaine as she immediately walked over to Stephen and asked, “What are your orders, Director?”

Stephen chuckled gently as he stared at Blaine from across the table and said, “Oh, Ruby, do you know that the director over here has risked his life to storm out of the Light Organization in the middle of the night just for you. Not only did he do all that, but he was also going to offer me something that I never expected just for you. It seems to me that he really loves you. Why don’t you return to R Country with him, Ruby.”

Ruby gulped as she cracked a subtle smile before speaking in a calm tone, “You’re joking, Director. Why would Director Glaceau, a person with such high status, do so much for a lowly private militia like me.”

“So Director Glaceau, is our agreement still valid? You can take this lowly little private militia of mine away if you hand over your territory at Easthill Valley.”

Blaine stared daggers at Ruby before muttering two words from his thin lips, “It is.”

Ruby who was standing beside Stephen was stunned for a second as she instinctively looked up and stared at Blaine. Their eyes were now locked onto each other.

Blaine then coldly withdrew his gaze and pushed the agreement in his hands across the long table, toward Stephen.

The instant Stephen looked at the agreement, a shred of surprise flashed across his eyes as he raised his brows and said, “How generous of you, Director Glaceau.”

Stephen then uncapped his steel pen and after signing his name on the agreement, he pushed the other copy toward Blaine and said, “I’m a simple man and don’t pull the rug under people. Now that I’ve signed my name on the agreement, you’re now free to take this lowly private militia of mine away from Z Country. I assure you, I won’t stop you.”

Blaine immediately got up and strode over to Ruby. He stared at her with his determined, dark gaze. Without hesitation, he grabbed her wrist and dragged her out toward the exit.

Ruby wanted to struggle and escape. However, Blaine’s grip was too tight for her to break away from. It felt as if Blaine was going to crush her wrist. She was completely unable to escape at that moment.

Blaine then shoved her into his modified, bulletproof car. However, just as Ruby was about to escape, Blaine immediately pulled her into his arms before ordering Old K who was in the driver’s seat, “Drive!”

The black bulletproof car drove out from the Director’s quarters and sped through the main road.

Ruby exclaimed in a cold and commanding tone, “Stop the car! I want to get out!”
