Blaine draped a black coat over his shoulders and went downstairs, getting ready to head out.
As Cindy bumped into Blaine downstairs, she felt curious seeing Blaine donning casual clothes. “It’s getting late now. Where are you going?”
“I need to deal with some matters.”
Blaine then left the mansion.
Cindy was not a fool. Although it was just a half-hearted reply from Blaine, he must have gone out to search for Ruby as she had not yet returned home at this hour.
What was so good about that woman that was worthy for Blaine to constantly keep her in mind?
…
In the casino.
As Ruby and Stanley wagered a lump sum of money every round of games, they had attracted many onlookers.
There were many kinds of people in the casino and some were not even here to gamble. With Ruby’s tremendous wealth, there were a few killers who were interested in her too.
Soon, Ruby and Stanley were being targeted.
Stanley was a timid person. As he noticed that someone was eyeing them, he anxiously clasped onto Ruby’s sleeves to advise her to be alert. “Boss, we’ve gone too far and now we’re being targeted. There are probably many people around here waiting for an opportunity to rob us! We better leave quickly!”
Ruby was fearless and said, “Why should we be scared? Have you forgotten what I do for a living? Want to mess with me? No way.”
“But you’re the only one who can fight. How can we fight back if there are many of them?”
“Don’t panic. Let’s continue gambling.”
Stanley was at a loss for words.
Indeed, he could not feel at ease when he was with Ruby!
A while later, the manager of the casino approached them and talked to Ruby with a smile on his face, “Beautiful lady, as you’ve spent the most money here in the casino tonight, our boss wishes to meet you and treat you to a cup of tea.”
Ruby waved her hand dismissively and said, “He doesn’t have to thank me. I’m willing to contribute to your upcoming monthly KPI or perhaps, quarterly KPI too. Tea? Forget about it. I don’t like tea.”
The manager was still donning the typical polite smile on his face and bowed slightly in respect. “Miss, until now, there’s no one that our boss can’t meet. I would like to, again, urge you to follow me.”
