“Young Master, since we’ve already found Ms. Rubes, why didn’t you approach her earlier?”
Yaakov’s eyes darkened as he stared at the slender figure walking away. “Now is not the right time. Send someone to keep an eye on her.”
“Yes.”
Yaakov and his assistant entered the car after leaving the mall.
Yaakov asked, “Have you found anything regarding the things I’ve asked to investigate?”
His assistant handed him a file and said, “Ms. Rubes was adopted by the leader of Light Organization and had been working under Light Organization since then. She left after the internal conflict occurred in Light Organization.”
Yaakov frowned. He lowered his head to look at the file in his hands.
Ruby Luna.
Her name was no longer Rubes.
Yaakov’s frown deepened as his gaze fell on the marital status section on the paper. His eyes immediately turned cold.
His assistant noticed the change in his master’s mood through the rearview mirror. He spoke carefully, “Young Master, Ms. Rubes must be very happy to know that you’ve been searching for her all these years.”
Yaakov tossed the file aside. He no longer wanted to read further. He leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes and let out a faint sigh.
She would have recognized him earlier if she still remembered him.
Just like how he could still recognize her at a glance even after 18 years.
Although she was not as pretty as she was now, back when they were still at the welfare institute, her clear and determined eyes still remained the same.
Yaakov opened and lowered his eyes. He stared at the name “Blaine Glaceau” with hatred.
Blaine Glaceau.
That means Rubes was in love with this man named Blaine Glaceau?
…
Ruby stayed in Glacier City for two days.
She suddenly felt dizzy on her way to the airport. She lifted her head and looked outside the window. She realized the car was not heading in the direction of the airport.
She immediately had her guard up. She tried to lift her weak body up and stared at the driver in front. "You're not the driver from the Glaceau family. Who are you?"
The driver took off his mask and laughed, "Ms. Ruby, you found out too late!"
Ruby frowned and said, “Who the hell are you?”
“Leader sent me here to kill you!”
“Bull sh*t. If the leader really wanted to kill me, he would have done that at the mansion. You’re not working for the leader!”
The leader would have killed her easily at Glacier City if he really wanted to do that. He did not have to go through all the trouble.
The driver let out an evil laugh and said, “Leader was afraid that Master Blaine would find out the truth, so he sent me to secretly kill you!”
Ruby laughed coldly, as she propped herself up and put a choke on the driver’s neck. “Stop the car right now!”
The driver was not an ordinary person. He gripped Ruby’s hand and said, “Don’t move! You’re drugged and you don’t have the energy to fight me so you better stay still! I’ll make your death quick!”
“Who the hell sent you here?”
“Well, since you’re on your deathbed, I’m not afraid to expose myself. I’ll tell you the truth. A lady with the surname Nelson sent me here!”
Nelson?
How dare Cindy do such a thing?
“When did you guys drug me?”
“We drugged your breakfast in Kingswood Mansion. We sent one of our men to become your chef.”
Ruby gritted her teeth and glared at him angrily. “How could you guys do that? Aren’t you guys afraid that Master Blaine will flay the skin from your bones when he comes back?”
“Even if he does that, you won’t be here by then. You just need to be worry about yourself!”
The car rapidly drove out of Brook Highway and headed straight to a deserted beach!
Ruby passed out after the drugs started kicking in.
