The next morning, Boyle was watching the stock market on his tablet in the living room.
Hector came out from his room while scratching his short and messy hair as he asked "Are you going to school today, Boyle? If you aren't, could you help do my laundry today? Heheh."
"No. I need to head over to a law firm today. However, I have something important I need you to bring to school with you."
Hector came over and asked, "What's this important thing?"
Boyle handed Hector a white phone.
Hector picked up the phone and inspected it. There were even some cute stickers all over the back of it. This obviously belonged to a girl. He asked, "How did you even come across a female junior's phone?"
"First-year, English program, Cherie Fudd. Take a trip there and return the phone back to her."
Hector's eyes glimmered as he said, "Well played, Boyle! Oh, well played indeed! You only spent a few days to charm the little girl! Best you come clean now. Are you dating her?"
Without even looking away from the screen, Boyle replied calmly, "Do you actually think I have the time to play games with that little girl?"
Hector rubbed his nose as he thought to himself, 'Fair point. No one understands Boyle better than I do since I've known him for so many years now.'
There was only one thing Boyle was focused on in his life and that was making lots of money.
When Hector thought about Cherie's adorable little face, he sighed and intentionally said, "Sigh. Miss Fudd's fragile heart will be completely shattered by you. You’re completely inept when it comes to dating."
Boyle's gaze dimmed as he continued to ignore him.
…
Cherie was desperately searching for a Wi-Fi signal with her tablet in the cafeteria. However, she received no notifications from her Facebook.
That was odd. Why did Boyle not contact her?
Whitney teased her, "Maybe Boyle has already sold your phone in the secondary market since it's pretty valuable."
Cherie wiped her sweat as she said, "Boyle isn't like that."
After they were done with breakfast and she parted ways with Whitney, she made her way to her classroom.
It did not take long for Mandy who was sitting beside her to tug her arm. She told her, "Hey, Cherie, someone's looking for you outside."
Cherie's dark beady eyes lit up as she was certain it must be Boyle.
She got up and went out.
However, when the man turned around, Cherie's smile instantly turned stiff.
"You’re…"
Hector spoke with a smile, "You must be disappointed Boyle isn't the one who delivers this to you, right?"
Cherie was speechless as she blushed at his remark.
Hector handed her phone back to her and said, "I’m Boyle's roommate, Hector Zachary. You can call me Hector. Boyle told me to return this phone to you. You should keep something as important as this more properly next time. You might not be able to get it back if someone else were to find it in the future."
Cherie nodded and said, "Thanks, Hector."
"Don't worry about it. If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way then."
Cherie could not help but call out to him, "Hey, Hector… Why did Boyle make you send this over? Where is he?"
Since Hector was not as money-minded as Boyle, he knew immediately what she meant. He smiled and said, "Oh, him? He has some work to take care of today so he wasn’t able to come over. Well, you should know that third-year students are all busy with work."
Cherie could not help but be curious about Boyle's matters.
"Boyle's still looking for a job?"
"Well, no. You know how excellent of a student he is, so he has absolutely no need to look for jobs on his own. We actually started a law firm together. Of course, I’m no help at all since it's Boyle and some other friends that are managing the work at the law firm."
It seemed he was actually really busy and was not free to look for her. It was not because he did not want to see her.
Cherie felt a lot better with that thought in mind.
Hector left her with a peculiar hint, "Oh, that's right. I remember now. Boyle wants me to tell you that he'll treat you to a meal whenever you're free."
Cherie felt extremely happy in her heart.
"I know. Thank you, Hector."
