Boyle seemed to not notice that Cherie was nervous. He crouched slightly to hug her from behind and pointed at the part where she was wrong. “This part is wrong. The answer should be X to the power of four.”
Cherie quickly crossed out the wrong answer and rewrote it to the correct one. She explained, “I-I was too nervous just now. That’s why I made a mistake.”
Boyle gazed at her and smiled, “It’s just an algebra question. Why are you nervous?”
Cherie blushed and lowered her head. “I didn’t know you were standing behind me.”
Boyle was stunned for a moment. “Pack your things. I’ll send you back to school.”
Cherie closed her books and stuffed them all into her bag.
Huntley raised his brows. “Hey, is Cher leaving? Come and play with us next time. Oh, by the way, Boyle and I will be in court at ten in the morning tomorrow. If you’re free, you can drop by and watch us slay our way to victory! Let me tell you, Boyle’s incredibly cool when he’s in court.”
Boyle grabbed a nearby file and threw it at Huntley. “You’re better off being a mute.”
Huntley was speechless.
Was it wrong for him to play matchmaker in his brother’s relationship?
Boyle did not appreciate his efforts. Soon, he would regret being against what he was doing for him!
…
Boyle rode a bicycle to send Cherie back to school.
Cherie sat at the front seat while being hugged by Boyle from behind. She felt as if they were a couple as their positions were very intimate.
The school was still quite a distance away from their location.
Cherie was worried if he would find her heavy.
Fortunately, she did not have anything for dinner.
However, the second she thought about that, her stomach started growling in hunger.
Boyle glanced at her. “Are you hungry?”
Speechless, Cherie exclaimed internally, ‘This is too embarrassing!’
She was in a rush when she delivered his dinner to the law firm and did not manage to eat anything.
“I-I’m on a diet! That’s why I didn’t have dinner.”
Boyle frowned slightly. She was so skinny that he could lift her up easily with one hand. Why did she need to lose weight? “You’re not fat. You’ll regret it if you starve yourself.”
Cherie lowered her head and secretly smiled. He said she was not fat. That implied she was slim in his eyes. Yup, that must be it.
“You sound like my dad sometimes.”
Like her father, he also worried about her health.
However, it felt good to be taken care of by Boyle.
There were a lot of restaurants in the area, and Boyle stopped his bicycle at the entrance of a noodle shop.
“Let’s go and grab some food here.”
Boyle parked his bicycle at the side before entering the noodle restaurant with Cherie. She ordered a bowl of beef noodle but Boyle did not order anything. He was still full from the dinner earlier and did not have the bad habit of eating supper.
When her food arrived, she picked out all the green onions and coriander from her noodles.
Cherie frantically justified herself as she spotted Boyle glancing at the green onions and coriander she picked out. “I’m not a picky eater!”
She was not a high-maintenance girl.
Cherie did not want to look finicky in front of him. If she appeared difficult to take care of, he might not fall in love with her.
He seemed to like intellectual and generous girls like Layla.
Cherie tried to initiate a conversation while eating her noodles. “Boyle, are you close with Layla?”
“Kind of.”
“... Oh.” He was implying that they were close, right?
The noodles were delicious, but she gradually lost her appetite as she ate them.
Boyle glanced at her unfinished noodles. “Are you full?”
Cherie did not want to waste food, so she forced herself to finish the entire bowl of noodles.
