Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 794

Once Boyle and Layla reached them, Whitney winked at them mischievously and invited them with great enthusiasm. “Boyle, Layla, let’s study together! You’re just in time. Cher and I have just encountered some difficulties in our studies and wish to seek help from you both.”

Layla was reluctant. “This is a little inappropriate. It’ll be best if there are fewer people studying together in the library. If we study together, it might become a tea party in no time.”

Whitney smiled innocently on the outside but was clenching her teeth and suppressing her dislike within. This woman was very manipulative and calculative!

“How will it become a tea party? We have no tea here! Layla, are you reluctant to help us in our studies?”

Since Whitney rebutted Layla as such, Layla felt it would not be nice to continue arguing with them on this.

As Layla did not speak further, Whitney quickly stood up and dragged Boyle to the chair beside Cherie.

Cherie was speechless.

Whitney then dragged Layla to the chair next to her to sit. “Legendary Boyle, Cher’s additional mathematics is very bad. Can you help teach her, please? I just happen to have a few finance-related questions I want to ask Layla.”

Layla glared at Whitney. However, she felt helpless as she was unable to rebuke Whitney’s words.

Whitney playfully stuck her tongue out toward Layla and asked her pretentiously, “Layla, can we?”

Layla glanced at Boyle and Cherie who were sitting together. Feeling that the situation was a little unfair deep within, she pinched her fingers and answered reluctantly. “Yeah.”

Cherie was unable to ignore Boyle’s presence. She felt very stressed as her heart beat uncontrollably fast.

However, Boyle was cold and impassive. His eyes fell on her additional mathematics book and the practice workbook next to it. “Which question is giving you problems?”

“Th-this question.”

Cherie simply pointed at one of the questions.

Boyle patiently explained to her, “This is very simple. You have to use trigonometric functions to solve this…”

When he inched closer to her, the pleasant and fresh grassy scent of his shirt wafted to her nose. Cherie’s eyes were on his face the whole time. She did not listen to whatever he said.

When Boyle finished explaining the solution, he lifted his gaze. “Do you understand now?”

“... Yeah, I do.”

Their eyes locked together. His gaze was deep and composed, while hers was frantic and anxious.

Since he majored in law and finance, his clear and bright eyes seemed to be able to penetrate a person’s soul and mind. This made Cherie feel like her thoughts were being exposed in the open for him to see, unable to hide from his piercing gaze.

“I’ll explain it again. Listen carefully.”

Cherie nodded her head vigorously. This time, she had to listen carefully.

Meanwhile, Layla kept lifting her head up to look at Boyle and Cherie.

Whitney obviously noticed her constant attention toward them. She inched nearer to Layla and whispered in her ear, “Layla, look at how patient Boyle is toward Cher. I feel that Boyle has some feelings toward Cher. What do you think?”

Under the table, Layla’s hands were clenched into fists as her nails dug into her palms. She uttered indifferently, “He wouldn’t be single if he intended to date someone.”

Whitney deliberately nudged her chin with her pencil in hand as she agreed, “He must have never met any girls he really liked before. He even went to watch a midnight movie with Cher last time. Oh right, he also allowed Cher to stay over at his house. If he doesn't like Cher, what else could it be?”

Layla’s face was ashen white once she heard Whitney’s words. She rebuked, “That’s impossible. Boyle is not a frivolous person. How could he possibly bring girls back to his home to stay overnight?”

As she questioned Layla, she was slightly agitated, which caused her to raise her tone. Boyle who was sitting opposite her overheard their conversation.

Boyle raised his head and impassively said, “What she said is the truth.”

Layla bit her lips hard as they went pale.

Whitney raised one of her brows provocatively. ‘Ha! Even Boyle himself has admitted it. What else is there to say?’ Whitney thought to herself.

After Boyle finished explaining a few mathematics questions, he stood up and uttered, “I’m going to find some books.”

A while later, Cherie left her seat too. “I’m heading to the washroom!”

Immediately, she disappeared like a whirlwind.

Even a dumb person knew that Cherie was not going to the washroom and was obviously looking for Boyle.

Layla felt disdained toward Cherie as her eyes revealed a trace of scorn. “What a clingy person!”

Whitney bit on her pencil while doing her revisions. “The legendary Boyle is more than happy with Cher following and sticking to him. Layla, your ridicule toward Cher makes you seem like sour grapes.”
