Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 819

The next morning, Cherie was heartlessly woken up from her sleep by Boyle.

“Let me sleep for a little while more.”

The girl slumped back with her messy hair.

Boyle looked at the girl sleeping on the bed and said lightly, “If you can’t get on the 8 a.m. bus, your family will find out that you’re lying. You can keep on sleeping if you are not afraid of the consequence.”

She went silent for a moment.

The girl on the bed sat up lazily. Her hair was tousled like a child.

Boyle smiled. He walked over and slipped his hands to ruffle them.

“Get up already. I made breakfast.”

Cherie greeted Sonia after she got ready and had breakfast.

Sonia saw them off at the door, waved and said, “Cher, come visit us more often.”

“Aunt Sonia, I will make sure to visit more often.”

Boyle sent Cherie to the bus terminal and handed her the ticket after queuing up for it.

Outside the bus terminal, a stall was selling sticks of candied hawthorns.

Cherie looked at the hawthorns with beautiful, glossy sugar coating and tugged at Boyle’s sleeve.

“Boyle, I want some candied hawthorns.”

Boyle turned and glanced at them. He frowned. “It’s unhygienic. What if you get food poisoning?”

“How could they be unhygienic? I ate a lot of them as a kid.”

Her eyes were full of anticipation. He didn’t try to stop her anymore and went to get her one.

Cherie enjoyed the candied hawthorns and held it to Boyle. “Would you like to have a bite?”

“You go ahead.” Boyle patted her the back of her head without much thought.

Boyle looked at his watch. It’s 7:30 a.m. It was almost time and she should be heading to the waiting area now.

“You should go in now.”

Boyle stayed with Cherie while she was waiting in line. When she arrived at the ticket gate, Boyle stood outside the railing.

After going in, Cherie came back running to the railing again. With the railing between them, she tip-toed and gave Boyle a quick kiss on his lips.

The kiss felt sticky. It tasted like the candied hawthorns, sour yet sweet.

Boyle stared as the figure with the yellow backpack ran away. His eyes were gentle and affectionate.

After Cherie was back at North City, she managed to keep the trip a secret with Whitney Yard’s help. Heaton and Verian did not suspect anything.

She was just about to resume her sleep on the bed when Harrison knocked on the door.

“Cherie, Tyler wants to ask you out tonight.”

Cherie covered her face with the blanket. She was really sleepy and squealed, “I’m not going. I’m dead tired.”

Harrison came in and said, “You can’t say no. Tyler wants me to tell you that he has something important to say.”

“Why can’t he say it over the phone?”

“Tyler can’t treat you to dinner over the phone, can he? Tonight 7 o’clock at the revolving restaurant. You have to go.”

Cherie covered her ears under the blanket and said, “Okay. Get out of my room. I need sleep!”

Harrison walked out and closed the door. He ran into Verian.

Verian looked briefly into the room and asked, “What is your sister doing?”

“She said she is tired and wants to sleep.”

“What did she do in Whitney’s house to make her so tired?”

Harrison replied, “Both of those dirty-minded girls must have been hiding under their blanket reading some dirty books.”

Verian’s mouth twitched. She held in her laugh and hit her son’s arm. “You’re disregarding her as your older sister if you talk bad about her like that behind her back.”

Harrison raised his eyebrows, unaffected. “Look at the way she acted. Does she even deserve any respect? She always beat me up on the bed. If she is not a girl, I would have beat her to a pulp.”

“If you dared do that to your sister, your dad will break your legs.”

Harrison shivered and said, “I wouldn’t dare.”

Does he still have a place in this house?

……

Cherie got to the revolving restaurant past seven.

When she reached the top floor, Tyler was already waiting at the table. She rushed over.

“I overslept and there was peak hour traffic. How long have you waited?”

Tyler stood up and pulled out the chair for her. “Not long. I just got here.”

He wouldn’t be so stupid to say that he had been waiting for an hour.

“Oh, right. Why did you ask me out for dinner today? This is a really nice place.”

Cherie looked around and realized that they were the only customers.

Cherie was stunned. “Tyler Gale, did you book out the entire restaurant?”

Tyler looked at her affectionately and said, “What do you think? Do you like it?”

Cherie saw the candles on the table and she almost choked. “What’s with this candlelight dinner? You even booked out the whole place. Be honest, what do you want from me?”
