The viral news about Momo was completely removed after ten minutes.
Calum discovered that the IP address from the Front Row Spectator's account came from the capital.
Calum said, "The Front Row Spectator's account belongs to a minor entertainment company called Star Entertainment. However, something feels odd about how the entire thing went viral so suddenly since madam isn't someone that has close ties with the entertainment industry."
Boyle frowned and gave it some thought before saying, "Hmm, it seems Star Entertainment is a company based in the capital."
Most of the mutual friends he shared with Cherie were from the capital.
Calum exclaimed, "Does this mean that someone is behind this incident?"
"I believe that this was done by someone who has a personal vendetta with madam during her university days. Alright then, you will have someone look for whoever that has exposed this incident in the capital. I believe that person was bribed, so this means that we can also be that person's second employer."
"Alright, I'll get to it right away."
Calum immediately contacted some people in the capital.
Half an hour went by.
Calum knocked on the door and entered Boyle's office. He said, "Boss, the informant is a person named, Croc. He has been working in the entertainment industry for years now. We have discovered that about five hundred thousand bucks had been mysteriously transferred to that person's account this morning. He confessed after our interrogation and told us it was from a woman called Natalie Jones that provided him with that information."
Natalie.
A menacing glint flashed across Boyle's eyes.
Calum bent over slightly and asked, "Boss, should I have someone kidnap Natalie then?"
Boyle replied, "It's pointless to kidnap her. People like her will only end up biting back."
Calum said, "Boss, while we were doing our investigation, we ended up investigating Natalie as well. It turns out that she graduated from Capital City University's English program. She was working as Chase's translator, the owner of the Ambition Luxury Hotel. However, although she has resigned from working for him, she was still receiving a lot of money from Chase. He was basically giving her money every single week."
"I believe Natalie has quite the relationship with Chase, boss."
Boyle was a little unfamiliar with the owner of the Ambition Luxury Hotel, Chase. Hence, he asked with his brows raised slightly, "Have you investigated this Chase fellow?"
"I have. He's already married. His wife happens to be the daughter of a wealthy family in the capital. She is a known shrew and it was all thanks to her family that allowed Chase to be where he is today."
Boyle cracked a grin and said, "Pack your things. We need to head back to the capital."
Calum nodded his head and said, "Alright."
Judging from the looks of things, it seemed that his boss was about to take this matter into his own hands.
Calum muttered a silent prayer for Natalie in his heart.
When Boyle read the comments of that viral post, a menacing glint could be seen from his gaze. He said, "I need you to find out everything that had happened while madam was in America. I need you to make sure you missed nothing."
"Alright."
Boyle was blaming himself a little because he felt responsible that he was not the first one to find out about her participation in a race in America nor did he find out about her entering a casino. It was the media who did instead.
Moreover, the race she took part in was a death race.
His heart wrenched.
…
In the Fudd family home's study.
Kush said, "Boss, some parts about the viral news about Jelly Bean were real."
Heaton had a menacing glare as he read the awful comments. He asked, "Which part is real exactly?"
"It seems madam actually loved to race during her stay in America. She actually took part in a death race once. Not to mention, she frequented the casino a lot too."
Heaton was a little puzzled as he asked, "Jelly Bean has always been such an obedient child. Although she was mischievous back then, she's never been this unruly before."
"Yeah. I don't understand why the madam acted so unruly this time. Perhaps she wanted to unwind due to the stress she felt during her studies in America?"
Heaton leaned back against his chair, raised his hand and rubbed his temple. He said while shaking his head, "This is odd. Jelly Bean had always been a smart kid. She's never faced any troubles learning in school ever since she was a kid. She was even having a barbeque party with her friends the night before her SAT exams. She wasn't even in a hurry to study when she returned home. She was even playing with her phone after her shower. She was even scolded by me back then but her grades were still incredibly good."
Kush guessed, "Then… could it be caused by her break up with Boyle?"
Heaton was stunned when he mentioned Boyle.
Kush explained, "The viral post had been suddenly removed earlier and when I investigated, it turned out to be Boyle's doing."
Heaton said, "It's already been seven years. Could he still have feelings for Jelly Bean?"
If a man no longer had any feelings toward his ex-girlfriend, he would never intervene with her matters even after seven years had gone by.
There were only two explanations to Boyle's actions.
The first was, Boyle felt guilty for the miscarriage he had caused Jelly Bean back then.
Next would be that Boyle still had feelings for Jelly Bean.
Heaton said, "I need you to keep an eye on Boyle and look into what exactly Boyle has been up to all these years. I believe he had already ran into Jelly Bean."
"Alright. I'll get to it right away."
Kush ran into Verian downstairs after he hastily left the study.
"Madam." Kush greeted Verian with a slight nod.
Verian politely replied, "It's almost time for lunch. Do you want to stay for lunch, Assistant Kush?"
"No. Boss had just assigned me some tasks. I need to get on with it right away."
"Alright then. We'll have lunch next time. Carry on with your business then."
Verian walked upstairs to call Heaton down for lunch after Kush left.
