Cherie clenched the contract as she stood in the room. She felt extremely embarrassed. She opened her mouth and said, “I… I didn’t know you’re in a meeting. I’ll leave first.”
Boyle sat on his office chair and interlocked his fingers. His face remained calm as usual yet his eyes flashed with humor.
Boyle looked at Cherie’s back as she ran to the door of the study room. He said, “Give me five minutes. I’ll talk to you after my meeting ends, alright?”
Cherie was speechless.
She opened the door and went out.
A foreigner in the video asked, “President Lawson, who is she?”
Boyle smiled charmingly and explained calmly, “She’s my wife. She’s still young and mischievous. I’m sorry to interrupt the meeting but I might have to put this meeting on hold for a moment. I think my wife is angry.”
The executive hurriedly said, “Your wife is more important.”
Then, Boyle stood up calmly and walked out of the room.
He was going to coax his wife.
The executives were confused.
“When did President Lawson get married?”
“I don’t know. I thought he’s single?”
“Is it a secret marriage? However, a secret marriage is unfavorable to our company considering President Lawson’s identity.”
“Where did this Mrs. Lawson pop up from?”
…
Cherie had a lot of free time after signing the contract with MO Group.
All business calls were transferred to Boyle’s phone and email.
He would not take up jobs that were too tiring, too hard, and jobs that did not pay much. He literally rejected everything.
Her main mission for now was to recuperate.
Nothing else was more important than that.
…
It was in the Pride Hotel at the capital.
A man and a woman were lying on the bed in a presidential suit after a passionate night.
Natalie was leaning against Chase’s chest.
Chase picked up his cigarette pack and Natalie grabbed the lighter on the nightstand skillfully. She lit up the lighter, brought it close to Chase’s lip, and lit up his cigarette.
Chase said while he smoked, “We should stop seeing each other for the time being. We’re having a big event in the hotel and there will be a lot of reporters.”
Natalie’s eyes lit up. She said, “Reporters? I remembered you introducing a reporter to me. His nickname was Croc. The one that you said who had a lot of connections.”
“Why are you looking for him?”
Natalie said coquettishly, “Well, I have something to ask him. I have this friend who is an internationally recognized pianist, but I’ve been seeing a lot of negative news about her on the Internet. I wanted to ask whether he’s close to my friend.”
Chase smiled and said, “You ladies love gossiping so much. I think all those gossips in the entertainment industry are especially made to entertain ladies like you.”
Natalie gave Chase a side glance. “All ladies love gossip.”
