Since both Harrison and Lucas often played snooker in this pub, they would often book table C.
Harrison once jokingly told Lucas that the table brought him great luck.
It seemed this incident turned out to be a bad omen as well.
That was because if they changed their tables, they believed that their luck would completely shift.
Harrison had an eighty to ninety percent win rate if they played at table C.
Lucas had even told him to change to a different table because of that once.
However, it was merely harmless fun for them to play on a different table. It seemed it was an entirely different problem when they realized that their usual table had been taken by someone else.
The person who had taken over their table was none other than Harrison's rival from school, Gary Shane. It seemed Gary and his lackeys were now occupying the table.
Gary picked up his cue pole while his lackeys behind him brought him chalk as he applied it to the ferrule.
Harrison glared at Gary with a very displeased gaze as he cracked a sinister smile. He said, "If you want to play snooker, go ahead and play over there. This table is mine."
Gary picked up the freshly chalked cue pole, took a good aim at the white cue ball on the table, struck it and caused all of the other balls to shoot out at every direction.
Gary stood up straight and replied in a mocking tone, "Is your name even written on this table? I've spent a long time inspecting this table but I still can't find your name on it. Therefore Harrison, what right do you have to say that this table belongs only to you? First come first serve buddy, so no matter how unreasonable you are, do you understand that you still have to abide by the rules?"
Gary immediately sat on the table and was obviously trying to start some trouble.
Harrison said, "Lucas, I need you to call the manager over and have him tell Gary who exactly does this table belong to."
It did not take long for Lucas to come over with the manager.
Harrison was from the Fudd family and the manager was not bold enough to cross him. However, it seemed Gary was the son of some government official as well. This put the manager in a pretty tight spot.
Since both parties were pretty powerful people, all the manager could do was try to reason with them.
The manager pushed his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose and spoke with a polite smile as he said, "Mr. Shane, the thing is, Mr. Fudd happens to be a regular customer to our establishment and it is true that he had paid for this table for the entire year. That is why this table is off limits to other customers. It's pretty much Mr. Fudd's personal table now."
Gary shoved the cue pole against the manager's chest and seemed extremely unreasonable and impolite as he exclaimed, "So you're saying that I should hand this table over to Harrison right now?"
The manager stumbled a couple steps backward after being shoved by Gary. However, he maintained his smile as he said, "Yes, indeed. According to reason."
Just as Gary was about to beat the manager with the cue pole, Harrison suddenly grabbed it before the pole struck him.
"So, the shameless fool wants to do things the hard way now?"
Gary jumped off from the table, reached out and pointed at Harrison's chest as he said, "Who are you calling shameless, Harrison?"
"You."
Harrison suddenly grabbed Gary's shoulder and slammed him on the ground.
"Crash!"
"Ah!"
Two sounds could be heard at the moment.
Lucas opened a can of soft drinks on the side and started drinking it. He was not surprised by the outcome of the entire exchange.
Harrison took his tie from school off his collar and threw it on the ground. His collar was slightly opened.
He took a glance at Gary's lackeys and said, "Does anyone still want to fight? Are you guys going to take me on one on one or swarm me?"
When those lackeys realized what had happened, they were immediately terrified and backed away.
When Gary realized he was completely humiliated when his lackeys all made their escape, he cursed, "F*ck! You bunch of cowards!"
Harrison lowered his gaze and gave Gary a cold glare as he laid on the floor before coldly mocking him with a chuckle, "Oh please, you had some nerve to challenge me one on one when you're so weak. Are you really that bored of living?"
Gary climbed back up onto his feet and limped over to the exit before pointing at Harrison as he exclaimed with a bold tone, "Just you wait! I will beat you up next time!"
