Beep…
She hung up the phone.
Boyle was worried about her safety. Hence, he had installed a GPS tracker in her phone, so he could track her real-time location.
Boyle hurried toward the door as he looked at the GPS on his phone.
She was still at Jazz Lake Street. That meant she only left not long ago.
Boyle took his car key and glanced through the other car keys in the hallway. The white Porsche car key was missing.
Boyle strode through the yard as he called Shania. He asked her to send an ambulance to the airport and stop a car with the car plate number XXXXX.
…
Cherie ran through several red lights.
She kept speeding.
Little Bean Sprout kept crying on the other side of the call.
Cherie started crying as well. Tears kept flowing down her cheeks.
Little Bean Sprout cried and said, “Jelly Bean, both my mum and dad don't want me anymore… the other kids are so happy, but I’m utterly upset.”
Cherie was gasping for air. She sobbed and said nervously, “Little Bean Sprout, I... mummy wants you. She might be out on a business trip. Stay where you are and don’t think too much.”
“Jelly Bean… nobody wants me.”
Cherie choked and said, “No… that’s not true… I will always want you even if nobody wants you. I won’t leave you alone.”
“But will Boyle like me? I will become a nuisance to both of you. The other kids are right. I’m just a burden to everybody.”
Tears blurred Cherie’s vision.
Cherie wept and said, “That’s not true, Little Bean Sprout. You will never become a burden to us. Boyle will like you a lot as well. Little Bean Sprout, promise me you’ll stay right where you are. I’ll be there soon. Wait for me, alright?”
“You’re lying. Boyle doesn’t like me. Nobody likes me.”
“Little Bean Sprout…”
Little Bean Sprout hung up.
Cherie held the steering wheel as she drove with one hand and tried to call Little Bean Sprout using her other hand.
She was on the verge of losing her mind.
The white Porsche sped down the street. Cherie rushed down with her phone when she arrived at the airport.
She saw Little Bean Sprout who was carrying a red backpack across the road as soon as she got out of the car.
Cherie shouted, “Little Bean Sprout!”
Little Bean Sprout ran toward her recklessly with her backpack.
A black Volkswagen appeared in the middle of the road.
Cherie sprinted across the road to protect Little Bean Sprout. The black Volkswagen did not expect a person to suddenly appear on the road. It hit the person before the driver could hit the brakes.
Cherie felt an intense pain and fell to the ground as blood started flowing from her head.
However, she still crawled across the road, trying to reach for Little Bean Sprout who was lying on the ground after getting hit by the car as well.
“Little Bean Sprout… Little… Little Bean Sprout… Little Bean Sprout…”
However, it was as though her body was falling apart. She tried to pick herself up a few times, yet she slumped down to the ground again.
She could only look at Little Bean Sprout who was unconscious and covered in blood helplessly. Tears filled her eyes and flowed down her cheeks. “Little Bean Sprout… Little Bean Sprout… save Little Bean Sprout… please save her… Little Bean Sprout …”
Boyle saw Cherie lying on the ground injured as he arrived at the airport. His heart nearly stopped. “Cher!”
He strode over and hugged Cherie who was lying on the ground.
“Cherie… are you okay?”
Boyle cupped her face as blood kept streaming down.
Cherie kept reaching out her hand, trying to touch something. She leaned against Boyle’s body as she begged him, “Boyle… save Little Bean Sprout… Little Bean Sprout… save her… Boyle, save her… she’s dying…
