Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 971

At first, the wedding was set in North City.

Regarding the venue, both Boyle and Cherie’s families had visited the place physically and the elders had no comments on having the wedding at North City’s church.

However, on the way back, Boyle kept having a feeling that purely having a western wedding in the church was not enough and felt he had missed out on something.

Cherie had no opinion on the venue, so Boyle did not say anything.

As they returned to Lake Street Mansion and while Boyle was arranging the wedding invitation cards, it was then he realized the reason he felt something was missing was after he saw Chase’s name.

His and Cherie’s love started to blossom in Capital City University. Although they were separated for seven whole years, it was a true story of love that started from university life to the day of their wedding.

If they could hold the wedding at Capital City University, it would be a memorable and precious memory for him.

Every corner of Capital City University reminded them of their past and evoked precious and beautiful memories.

Boyle made a call to Chase.

Chase felt odd when he received Boyle’s call. “Boyle, why did you call me today? You actually have free time to call me? Shouldn’t the groom now be busy smoothing out the wedding details?”

Boyle rubbed his temples and smiled. “Indeed I am. However, I would like to seek your help.”

“Help? How do you want me to help you?”

“I’m thinking of having the wedding at Capital City University. I’m just wondering if this is workable?”

Chase was stunned temporarily and felt the idea was unique and unheard of. “When is the exact date of your wedding?”

“On May Day.”

“Many students will be on holiday and most of them will be going back home. The university will be truly empty then. I think this is workable but...this matter will need approval from the Dean. Besides, certain students aren’t going home that day. Hence, it’s not easy if you really want to materialize the wedding at the university. Boyle, I’ll discuss with the Dean first and see how it goes.”

“Mr. Chase, I’d really appreciate your help to speak to the Dean. If he agrees, I’ll privately donate a library to the university. Besides, for those students who aren’t going back home during May Day, they can also come and join mine and Cherie’s wedding ceremony if they’re fine with it. If the wedding can be held at the university, the wedding dinner can be done open-air. Besides, a self-service buffet will be included so that the students who attend the wedding can also eat at ease.”

Chase laughed heartily. “Boyle, the students eat a lot! Are you sure you want to do this? Aren’t you afraid they will eat into your budget?”

“Mr. Chase, I’d be glad if you can help us on this matter.”

“Don’t worry. It’s impossible for the Dean to not be shaken by the conditions that you’ve offered. You sure hit the nail on the head. The current library in Capital City University is a little too small and is filled to the brim with the students every day. We need a spacious library. The future students of Capital City University will be grateful toward you and remember your contribution to heart.”

Boyle did not dare to receive such honor. “I’m just doing this for my own benefit. I don’t need the honor of being remembered by future students for being a benevolent donor. If Capital City University is willing to help me with this matter, similarly, I’ll help the students of Capital City University too.”

...

Fifteen minutes later, Chase’s phone call came in.

Chase’s tone was full of happiness. “Boyle, guess what? The Dean agreed immediately once I mentioned this matter to him. He also said you can ask him if you have any requirements or need help in anything.”

After a short catch-up with Chase, Boyle walked out of the study and headed downstairs toward the living room.

Cherie was sitting on the wool carpet with her back against a wooden chair. Various colors of molded plasticine were spotted on the coffee table.

It was a little figurine of a couple holding hands.

Boyle walked over to Cherie and sat on the couch. Looking at her hand-made figurines, he smiled. “Is this us?”

Cherie picked up the figurine and dangled it in front of him. “Doesn’t it look like us?”

Boyle crouched slightly to look closer at the figurine. “Why did you make yourself so ugly?”

Cherie swung her head away, ignoring Boyle. “How is it ugly? This is cute.”
