Boyle and Cherie had been busy for the whole day due to their wedding ceremony.
When returning to Greentown Condominium at night, some relatives and friends tagged along to spend their wedding night with them.
The floor was scattered with confetti and the house was a mess.
After all the guests had left the house, Cherie headed to the bridal chamber. The bedsheet, pillowcases, and blanket were all in an auspicious red. There were peanuts, longans, red dates, and lotus seeds on the bed, all omens of fertility.
Cherie was exhausted after the whole day. Without changing into comfortable clothes, she threw herself into bed and accidentally hurt her back as she was lying on top of red dates and longan.
She frowned due to the sudden pain. She stood up and stared at the longan and red dates before cracking the longan shell, deshelling it, and putting the flesh into her mouth.
She had been starving the whole day.
After sending the guests off, Boyle entered the bridal chamber and saw Cherie desperately eating the red dates and longans like a tiny hamster.
In fact, Cherie rarely eats longans and red dates as they did not taste appetizing.
Boyle walked toward her and sat beside her. He removed the floral wreath and veil from her head as he asked, “Are you hungry?”
“I’ve been starving the entire day. The bridesmaids forbid me from eating and drinking. They said that it’ll be inconvenient to go to the washroom with the wedding gown on.”
Boyle leaned toward her ear and neck coquettishly. “Should I take off this annoying wedding gown for you?”
While he was asking her for permission, he already slipped his warm, big fingers across her slender waist and started unlacing the ribbon knots.
Cherie realized what he was doing afterward. She rested her chin on his shoulder and closed her eyes. “Boyle, can you cook spicy chicken lasagna for me later?” Cherie asked in a weak voice.
“Okay.”
“I want a fried egg and a slice of ham too.”
Boyle tilted his head and kissed her affectionately. “Okay.”
“Why are red dates and longan on the bed?” Cherie curiously asked.
‘Can’t we put something more delicious than these?’ Cherie pondered.
Boyle answered her while taking off the wedding gown for her, “These four things are an omen of fertility.”
Cherie pouted. “We’re not planning to have children anyway. It’s tiring to conceive a child. Besides, it must be painful giving birth to children.”
Moreover, if they were to have children, she would have to share his love with the child.
She wanted all of Boyle’s love for herself.
Boyle smiled and kissed her neck and shoulder. “Don’t conceive if you don’t wish to then. I’ll be heartbroken to see you being in pain when bearing a child.”
Cherie beamed at him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She buried herself in his embrace and demanded, “The only person you can pamper is me.”
Boyle lowered his head to kiss her exquisite face. “I, Boyle, will only love and pamper Cherie in my entire lifetime.”
Cherie lifted her head and kissed his cheeks.
“Mrs. Lawson, one kiss is clearly not enough.”
Boyle pointed at his lips mischievously.
Cherie pranced toward him and sat on his lap. With her arms around his neck, she initiated the kiss.
Their kiss was passionate and lingering.
