Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 977

Huntley was feeling extremely ecstatic recently since he was blessed with a son. He was so excited that he called every friend he knew to tell them about it.

Of course, Boyle would be one of the people he called.

Huntley spammed Boyle with calls early in the morning. It was annoying enough to get Boyle to pick up.

It was also annoying enough to wake Cherie up.

Boyle cuddled up with Cherie in bed before picking up the call while patting her head.

The instant the call connected, Boyle was immediately greeted by Huntley's uncomfortable and cringy flirtatious voice, "Hey, Boyle…"

Boyle raised his brows and said, "Speak your damn mind. If you continue using that tone to speak to me, I'll hang up."

Huntley snapped back immediately, "No, no, don't. I happen to have a huge announcement to make. Well, who knows, maybe it might even be good news for you too!"

"What news?" Boyle calmly replied.

Huntley coughed to clear his throat before saying, "Cough, cough. I'm going to be a father now and you’re going to be the godfather too!"

Boyle chuckled and said, "So you're calling me this early in the morning to show off about you welcoming your son to this world?"

"Whitney struggled for four gruesome hours until six in the morning to give birth to a chubby little boy. He's about 0.78 pounds!"

Boyle chuckled and said, "Congratulations."

After listening to Huntley's delightful news, Boyle placed his phone back on the bedside table before cuddling up with Cherie and going back to sleep.

Cherie asked in a confused daze, "What time is it?"

"It's only seven. You can sleep for a little while longer."

Cherie asked, "Was that Huntley earlier?"

Boyle said, "Yeah. Whitney has given birth to a baby boy. He weighs 0.78 pounds and Huntley was ecstatic."

Cherie opened her sleepy eyes before asking in a serious tone, "Boyle, most friends around your age would have children already. Won't you feel disappointed that we're not planning to have one?"

Boyle stared at her before reaching out to pat her head as he cracked a loving smile and said, "Absolutely not."

"Really?"

Boyle sighed as he hugged her. "The truth is, I don't really like children. My personality wouldn't allow me to get along with children that well and I’m from a broken home. If we have a child, I'm afraid of giving the child too much love, which would spoil it. But if I give it too little, I would be too cold to the child. Besides, if we have a child, my focus would be split and I won't be able to spoil and give you all my attention every second of every day then."

Boyle paused before staring intensely at her before exclaiming in a clear tone, "Cherie, I want only the best for you. I want to give you the best life and love you to the best of my abilities. I want to give you my undivided love and attention. I'm not worried about spoiling you too much because that is exactly what I want to do for you."

Cherie cracked a huge smile at him before reaching out and giving him a huge hug while nuzzling up against him. "Boyle."

Boyle embraced her as he lowered his head and kissed the top of her head. He spoke in a soft tone, "You told me that other people already have children but that's their lives. There are obviously people who like children in this world and there are also married couples who would prefer a life without children. Having children or not isn't a deciding factor to gauge the happiness of one's life."

"As for you… Cherie. I find myself being very afraid when it comes to your matters. I can't bring myself to put you in a life-threatening situation just for a child, nor do I have the heart to watch you lose so much blood. You alone are enough for me. I don't need anything else nor do I want a child. Our relationship is already strong enough without those things.

"The main purpose of having a child in this world is to carry on the family bloodline or sometimes, it's to strengthen the relationship between a married couple. Perhaps some families would feel the joy a child brings to them but having a child would cause a married couple to sacrifice their private time together.

"Cherie, I want to spoil you forever. We don't need a third person in our world and you won't ever have to worry about me neglecting and ignoring you because of the child. This is the only way I can provide you with any sort of security and stability."
