Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 978

Huntley said, "I'll bring both godparents to visit the child?"

Whitney said, "Cherie, go on with Boyle to visit the child then. The child is white and chubby. He looks extremely adorable but we haven't decided on a name yet."

Cherie replied while hugging Whitney's arm, "I'll stay here with you."

"I'll be fine."

Cherie remained silent but did not leave.

In the end, Boyle told Huntley, "I'll visit the child with you and we'll have Cherie stay to keep Whitney company then."

Only Cherie, Whitney, and a caretaker remained in the room after that.

Cherie complained, "What's wrong with Huntley anyway? All he cares about is the child and not you."

Whitney grabbed Cherie's hand and replied with a smile, "Oh no, it's not like that. He's just way too happy, you know."

"What's wrong with Huntley's family too? How could they not return after visiting their grandson? Can't they think about the one who had to suffer through childbirth to give them their chubby little grandson?"

Cherie had always been a blunt person and would often speak her mind. Whitney was not surprised when she complained about Huntley's family.

She knew Cherie was only speaking up for her.

Whitney replied in a joking yet serious tone, "Cherie, honestly, I'm pretty lucky this time because I gave birth to a baby boy. If it had been a girl, I'm pretty sure Huntley's parents would want me to give birth to a second child."

"Are grandsons really all that good?"

Whitney laughed at Cherie's lack of any real experience in society before saying, "No family wouldn't like a grandson."

"My grandpa adores me, his granddaughter."

Whitney said, "Well, there's no denying that Old Master Fudd absolutely loves you but there are very few people in this world that love granddaughters as much as Old Master Fudd. No family would not want a grandson to carry on their family's lineage. Although the Scott family's business isn't as massive as the Fudd family or Boyle's MO Group for that matter, his family is still pretty influential and powerful in the capital. There are plenty of other small subsidiaries under the Scott family's business. However, Huntley is their only son. Even though his parents are very reasonable people. it is the man's duty to make sure the family's bloodline carries on for generations."

Cherie pouted her lips in a carefree manner as she said, "I don't know what you're talking about. The only thing I know is just how exhausting it is to you after childbirth and Huntley should've stayed here with you."

Whitney held onto Cherie's hand and said, "Oh, Cherie, I'm pretty envious of you sometimes to be able to act as freely and unrestrained as you want. You don't even have to worry about anything. Boyle listens to you when you tell him that you don't want children and his raw affection stems directly from the bottom of his heart. He wouldn't even try to convince you otherwise."

Cherie picked up an orange and started peeling it before saying, "Well, if you don't want children, you can always talk to Huntley too."

"Oh please, do you think he'll even agree? He’ll agree on the surface but he'll also secretly pierce a few holes in his condoms just to get me pregnant. Besides, I’ll be questioned if nothing happens for too long."

Cherie snapped back with a carefree tone, "It sure is difficult being someone else's daughter-in-law. I'm lucky that Boyle's mom never rushes or questions me about having children."

Whitney chuckled and said, "Oh, please, how could Boyle's mom possibly even dare rush or question you? I'm pretty sure she thinks Boyle is insanely lucky to have been able to marry you in the first place. Therefore, how could she possibly ask for more by rushing you to have children? Cherie, I'm different from you. You’re a priceless jewel in everyone's eyes and as long as you live your life well, no one will have the heart to force you to do anything, let alone your family or Boyle. They’ll respect every decision you make."

Cherie replied, "Everyone is a priceless jewel to themselves and I think you just lack the courage to be one because you're afraid of disappointing Huntley or his family."

Whitney chuckled helplessly as she replied, "You're right. I am afraid of disappointing them because the security and stability they provided me with isn't as much as Boyle’s toward you. Boyle showers you with so much security that it's more than enough to make you feel secure for a lifetime."

Cherie said, "But having a child is also a good thing for you."

Whitney replied, "A mother's status will be elevated upon childbirth. My status will be much higher in Huntley's family in the future. His parents will no doubt spoil me even more. Cherie, if you don't want a child with Boyle, so be it. The love you both share is god-tier and I truly believe getting a child is pretty unnecessary for you both."

Cherie replied in an arrogant tone while peeling an orange, "I think so too."
