Julia's opinion didn't concern Nadine at all. Why should she care about what she said?
Tyler was flabbergasted. "Nad, why aren't you mad about what happened back then? You have every right to be angry. You can't overlook it just because she's my mom!
"Don't worry. I'll make her apologize to you."
Shaking her head, Nadine insisted, "Really, there's no need for that! I wasn't bothered at all. As a mother, Mrs. Sullivan didn't do anything wrong. I completely empathize with her. There's no need to apologize to me.
"And I don't feel wronged either. You should focus on her wellbeing instead."
But Tyler didn't believe that she was unbothered. Assuming that she was just being spiteful, he quickly added, "Nad, don't put yourself through this."
Nadine didn't feel like continuing the conversation anymore. She got up and headed to her locker. As she slipped on her uniform, she flashed a smile at him.
"Let's not talk about this anymore, okay? I have to get back to work now. I don't want to dwell on the past anymore, so let's just forget it.
"Also, I hope you don't let your personal feelings meddle with your work. I don't think it's appropriate. What do you think?"
Nadine had no romantic feelings for Tyler six years ago, and she also felt the same now. It was better to be clear about it.
