Travis saw Sean's arm in a cast and quickly asked, "Mr. Sean, what happened to your arm?"
Sean recounted the incident from that day. "It was my own fault, Mr. Jenkins. The doctor said it was nothing serious. It'll heal in a few days, so don't worry about me."
The comforting tone in his adorable voice made the old Travis feel a mix of heartache and comfort. He couldn't help but pat Sean's head.
"You need to be careful and listen to the doctor and your mom. Don't run around." He then looked at Nadine. "Mr. Sean is such a good boy. You've taught him very well, Mrs. Hamilton."
Nadine smiled faintly at Travis' praise. Meanwhile, Sean proudly lifted his chin. "Of course! That's because I'm Mommy's baby!"
His proud words made the adults in the car laugh heartily.
After ten minutes of driving, Nadine realized they weren't heading toward the hospital. Puzzled, she asked, "Mr. Jenkins, this isn't the way to the hospital. Did you take a wrong turn?"
Colby glanced at her through the rearview mirror and reassured her, "Don't worry, Mrs. Hamilton. This is Mr. Hamilton Senior's instructions. He wants us to take you to get a makeover so you can accompany him to somewhere looking beautiful."
Although Colby explained, Nadine's confusion only grew. "Accompany him to where? Why the makeover?"
Travis and Colby exchanged a knowing look and gave the same answer. "Don't be anxious, Mrs. Hamilton. You'll find out when we get there."
…
At the same time, at Harborview Hospital, Adam placed great importance on Sean's birthday. He had asked the doctor for permission to leave the hospital for half a day to attend Sean's birthday party at Palace Restaurant.
