Nadine figured that as long as Jean put in enough effort, Brad would be more than willing to divorce her. Yet, for some reason, it seemed like Jean wasn't trying hard enough because Brad still hadn't signed the divorce agreement.
Nadine had completely lost the desire to continue this marriage and simply wanted to be free as soon as possible. However, judging from Brad's current attitude, he was nowhere close to granting her wish.
It puzzled her—why didn't Brad want a divorce? Why hadn't he gone running back to Jean? Could it be that his adoration for his first love had dwindled?
Earlier, while sitting in the car, she noticed Brad frowning from time to time and zoning out at red lights. It seemed like something was weighing heavily on his mind.
And the only person who could trouble someone as steadfast as Brad was undoubtedly Jean. So, she concluded that Brad had been dumped. He must have fought with Jean, so he was in a bad mood now.
Since he had driven her and Sean home, she decided to give him some advice. "Ms. Sawyer's such a wonderful person. You shouldn't be mad at her. You should take a good look at yourself and see if you've done something wrong. Apologize to her and get her a few gifts to cheer her up."
After all, if he didn't mend things with Jean, she wouldn't be able to get a divorce. As long as those two got back together, she'd definitely get her divorce certificate. As such, it was only right for her to show some interest in Brad's relationship with his precious Jean.
Brad sat in the driver's seat and was genuinely thrilled when he saw Nadine walking over to him. His heart raced as well. For a moment, he felt as if a light had suddenly shone down on him.
