Nadine had truly changed. She no longer revolved around Brad, nor did she have eyes for him anymore.
The current Nadine seemed like a completely different person. She was cold, heartless, and had daggers hidden in her eyes. This was especially true when she faced off with Brad. She was like a hedgehog that would not back down. She had all her spikes raised, wanting to stab him to death.
Nadine was now the complete opposite of the gentle and soft Nadine from before. Sometimes, Brad wondered if the version of Nadine he thought he knew was fake. If that was the case, was this the real her?
Did Nadine disguise herself as a gentle and virtuous person just to marry him? After she got what she wanted, did she tear off that facade and reveal her true and ruthless nature?
Perhaps, this was her true self.
Sitting in the private room of the bar, Brad thought back to the moment when Nadine had hit him with her bag. His head was still buzzing from the blow. Where did she find the audacity to do such a thing?
The woman who had once cherished him the most now had the heart to hurt him. In fact, Nadine had hit him so hard that his head had several bumps from the blow.
All that affection she used to show him—was it all just an act?
Alex noticed that something was amiss with Brad. He kept on mindlessly touching his head. As if assessing something, Alex stared at Brad's scalp for a long time.
Brad's hair was cut very short, though not short enough to be considered a buzz cut. Still, his scalp was visible at a glance. Alex didn't even need to part Brad's hair to see the red bumps on his head.
It was obvious that someone had just hit him. Unable to hold back, Alex burst into a fit of laughter.
