Considering that both Daniel and Adam were still around, Nadine believed that her wish to visit her son anytime wouldn't be a problem.
After thoroughly analyzing the situation with Avery, she felt much more at ease. Consequently, she was confident when facing Brad's threats. When one had conquered their biggest fear, they became stronger and more self-assured.
Brad was aware that Nadine loved her son and that Sean was her Achilles' heel, so he often used him to threaten her. But realizing he could no longer use Sean against her, his eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you sure?" he asked incredulously.
Nadine answered without hesitation, "Absolutely! After all, Sean isn't your biological child. It's not like he'll ever be close to you. Everyone in Janctera City is waiting to see you make a fool of yourself. Why would I pass up such a great opportunity?"
She had genuinely come to terms with everything and learned to let it go. Being afraid didn't serve her, and it couldn't help her protect Sean. She could only hope for a chance at survival by facing her challenges head-on.
At that moment, her eyes were filled with determination, showing no signs of hesitation. Nadine looked at Brad calmly, as if she genuinely didn't care about Sean at all.
That look in her eyes left him feeling lost and confused. He had always used this tactic against Nadineāone that worked without fail. It allowed him to gain the upper hand every time. But now, not only had it failed to work, it had backfired. He felt a mess of emotions swirling inside him as he parted and closed his lips a few times but couldn't find his voice.
Noticing the expression on his face, she felt even more certain that standing her ground like this was the right move. So, she pressed on, "Go ahead and do whatever you want, Brad. I'm not afraid of anything anymore."
