Back when Jennifer married David, she decided to register Nadine under their household to claim more land and living space.

Later, when the Gentrys built their house, they were indeed able to secure an additional 215 square feet. Once she got what she wanted, she noticed David's disdain for Nadine and decided to abandon the child deep in the mountains, hoping the beasts would devour her.

Jennifer told everyone that her child had wandered off and gotten lost. Once the wild animals had devoured Nadine, she pretended to venture into the mountains, bringing back one of Nadine's belongings while sobbing.

"Oh, what bad luck this poor child had! She ran off to play and ended up being eaten by wild animals!" In doing so, she would avoid any responsibility, guilt, or legal consequences.

David was more than pleased when Jennifer abandoned Nadine in the mountains. He even treated himself to a few extra drinks that night to celebrate. But fate had a twisted sense of humor. Nadine not only lived but was also saved by Jack.

Fortunately, she was wise enough to keep her mouth shut and didn't tell anyone that Jennifer had left her to die. Otherwise, that woman would have ended up behind bars.

Last night, as they lay together under the same blanket, Jennifer told David she had a quick money-making scheme and asked if he wanted in. Without a moment's hesitation, he agreed.

Knowing they'd be heading to the hospital that day to confront Nadine, he brought all sorts of documents, just in case anything unexpected happened. After all, who couldn't talk their way out of anything?

Facts mattered more than words. David pulled out the household registry and started shoving it in the onlooker's faces. As more people took notice, they started to speak on David's behalf.

"Listen here, young lady. The heavens are watching you! These are your parents; they gave you life and worked tirelessly to raise you! How could you treat them like this? One day, you'll be a parent too, and if your child treats you like this, how would you feel? Stop being so heartless!"
