Daniel looked at Nadine's and Sean's pale faces, letting out a heavy sigh.
"What could I possibly blame you for? This isn't your fault. If Brad had done better, none of this would have happened. In the end, it's my failure as a father for not raising my son right."
He walked over, gently placing his hand on Nadine's and Sean's arms. "Nad, the most important thing right now is my father and my son's health. Let's put everything else aside for now, alright? I know you want a divorce, and we can talk about that once they're out of the emergency room, okay?"
He looked utterly drained, and it broke Nadine's heart. Tears streamed down her face as she said, "I'm so sorry, Daniel…" Beyond those powerless words, she had nothing more to offer.
Gigi stormed over and took Daniel's hand. "Dad, this woman caused Grandpa and Brad to end up in the emergency room! Why are you still defending her? If it weren't for her, our family wouldn't be in this situation! And Jean—we can't let her get away with this, Dad!"
Brad had a heart condition. Over six years ago, he almost died in a hotel after being given too much of an aphrodisiac. If the staff hadn't found him and called for help in time, he might not have made it.
At the mention of Jean, both Nadine's and Daniel's expressions turned grim. Daniel yanked his arm away from his daughter, his face darkening with a cold, vengeful look. "You're absolutely right. This is all her fault! If something happens to your brother, I won't spare her—or your mother!
"Go home and have the bodyguards keep an eye on them. If anyone dares let them escape, I'll break their legs! Remember, they aren't on our side anymore. If you still consider yourself a part of this family, don't do anything foolish!"
Gigi, shaken by the fierce look on Daniel's face, nodded stiffly. "I understand." Then, she obediently left the hospital and climbed into her family's car, instructing the bodyguards to take her home.
