In an attempt to stop himself from thinking about Nadine—and to escape all the memories tied to her—Brad moved into his office. His office was spacious and divided into three rooms. It appeared formal and businesslike at first glance, but behind a side door was his private lounge.

The lounge consisted of two bedrooms and a living area. One room was meant for him to unwind, while the other was set up for his entertainment, where he played mini-golf. Though there were two rooms, both were filled with his personal belongings, making it quite inconvenient for Gigi to stay there.

His gaze was sharp as he stared at her, clearly expressing his discontent. But she didn't care. Gigi hadn't let any of the housekeepers help her with her suitcase and had dragged her suitcase on her own, looking utterly disheveled before flopping onto the couch.

"I don't care! I'm exhausted and can't lift such a heavy suitcase. I'm not going back! You didn't even come to see me while I was in the hospital the past few days! Are you really my brother?"

Daniel kept the full story about Evelyn from his kids, especially Brad. Since he was already buried in work, he didn't see the need to add family issues to his stress. As for Gigi, Daniel believed it was best to keep things under wraps, so he didn't bring it up.

Gigi, on the other hand, knew about her mother's secrets but never mentioned it to anyone and acted as if she didn't know. So, when she saw Brad, she acted just as she always had, laughing and playfully teasing him, as if nothing had happened.

"Brad, do you know how bad you look right now? You look like a middle-aged man who's just been dumped!"

Brad rose from his seat and walked over to his younger sister, who was lounging on the couch, nudging her foot with the tip of his shoe. "Cut the crap! Go home and don't cause any more trouble for me!"

If Gigi stayed here, he'd have to move back to Phoenix Villa. Every time he returned home, memories of Nadine would flood back, like a dull knife digging into his heart.
