Tyler couldn't stand the arrogance Brad exuded. It was as if he was born to lead. His commanding presence made people feel awed and hesitant to meet his gaze.
Brad, on the other hand, was well aware of Tyler's feelings for Nadine and detested his pretentiousness. He felt that Tyler lacked the qualities of a real man.
After hearing that, Brad smiled and openly admitted, "It's true. I can't let go of Nadine. So what? Is there a law that states that an ex-husband can't still have feelings for his ex-wife?"
He despised the fact that Nadine had treated him as a substitute, but he couldn't make himself forget her. Hence, he buried himself in long hours of work to numb the pain, hoping that constant busyness would help him push her out of his mind. Unfortunately, no amount of effort worked.
In fact, his failed attempts only deepened his longing for her, which was why he had shown up at the family event. Tyler tried to provoke Brad, hoping to push him away from Nadine. However, Brad's open admission that he couldn't let go of Nadine left him at a loss for words.
As far as he could remember, Brad was arrogant and stubborn—never one to openly admit his feelings. Yet here he was, candidly confessing that he couldn't move on from Nadine.
Brad's unpredictableness rattled Tyler. "Even if you can't let go of her, you have to! If Nadine still cared about you, she never would have divorced you in the first place!
"Also, what about that night six years ago? The night you spent with Jean at the hotel. Does Nadine know about that? You were so caught up in the moment that your heart couldn't take it, and you had to be rushed to the hospital. Do you remember that?
